Agency Spotlight

Lincoln Literacy (LL) is a multi-award-winning nonprofit provider of educational services, ranging from basic English language and literacy to GED prep to occupational training for various in-demand fields. Founded in 1972, LL incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1993, as large numbers of refugees began to be resettled in Lincoln.

Refugees and immigrants remain the bulk of those LL serves. The organization recruits and trains community volunteers to serve as language and literacy tutors, as well as professionals to provide field-specific preparatory classes, in such fields as nursing assistant, medication aide, paraeducator, transportation, and manufacturing.
