TSU Day at the Capitol Lauded as a Success
Tiger Nation hit the road early Tuesday morning for TSU Day at the Capitol.

Three bus loads of students, faculty, staff, and alumni went to Austin with one mission: advocating for TSU's $1 billion Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR).

The University received resolutions in the House and the Senate, the Ocean of Soul performed in the open air rotunda, and the TSU delegation spoke with legislators and their staffs face to face.

The guest speaker was TSU alumna and Houston City Councilmember Dr. Carolyn Evans-Shabazz. During her speech, Dr. Evans-Shabazz encouraged women to find their purpose, find their place, and find their stride while unabashedly telling their stories with truth and integrity.

The Marketing 307 course in the Jesse H. Jones School of Business hosted a professional development day with 23 business leaders on March 7. The event was designed to prepare students for their next phase of life after graduation – interviewing.

This year, the students had to complete three interviews. The first was a virtual video interview; the second phase was a one-on-one interview, and lastly a panel interview. The interview styles are the various stages new applicants will encounter in hiring and onboarding process with most employers today. For some students, this was their first-time interviewing in one of the settings.
