With more information than ever before, we know you’ll find the
answers to most of your questions on our website.
Dear Member, Supporter, Stakeholder,

As we prepare to close the books on what has been, both personally and as an organization, a very challenging year, we would greatly appreciate your feedback in our quick response survey.
A handful of questions with plenty of opportunity to expand if you want to. We would like to understand where we’ve succeeded and where we need to do better as we prepare and plan for 2022. There have been some fantastic achievements in 2021 including our second consecutive News Advertiser Award, a City of Pickering Meritorious Award for our services to the community and fantastic numbers of players coming back to the pitch at all levels of the game. On the downside we had to cancel our Summer Festival due to COVID restrictions and were severely limited in our recreational sponsorship as many businesses were still feeling the impact of the pandemic.

From a volunteer perspective we have been blessed with an army of enthusiastic, skilled and energetic volunteers, specifically in the roles of Competitive Team Managers, Competitive Team Treasurers and our Recreational Coaches. Without your efforts we would be in a much tougher spot and your efforts do not go unnoticed. From the Board, Staff, and the hundreds of players that you support we want to sincerely thank you for everything you do.
PFC PET FOOD & PET TOY DRIVE
During the COVID-19 pandemic many of the local community groups have been coming up short. Pickering Football Club u12 competitive girls would like to help. Therefore, we are hosting a Charitable Pet Food and Pet Toy Drive to help animals in our community.

Date: Mon Dec 6 - Sun Dec 12 ⠀
Time: 7:15 - 7:35pm ⠀
Location: Pickering Soccer Centre

All proceeds will go directly to the Humane Society of Durham Region. Together we can make this a great donation on behalf of our community.

PFC Facility Staff will be positioned in the lobby to check everyone in, subject to their vaccine requirements. PFC will not accept any abuse of staff or volunteers as we all try to navigate this difficult time. Please have patience and come prepared.

All Abilities on CBC's Our Toronto

This past week our PFC All Abilities program was featured on CBC's Our Toronto. We invite to you watch this episode to learn more about our PFC All Abilities program and why this program is so important to our athletes. families, coaches, volunteers, staff and community.

To watch this feature, please the link HERE.
Our first PFC All Abilities book is now available!

Author and illustrator Anusha Broekhuyse joined us as a volunteer at the height of the pandemic, assisting with our virtual soccer programming. She then brought her love of our program to the field and joined us this summer as an All Abilities Coach.

We uncovered Anusha's amazing artistic talent which lead her to writing "Logan Learns to Play". She used her visual art skills to illustrate the enjoyment, fears, and challenges that youth living with disabilities face on a daily basis and hopes that this book will help inspire more children living with intellectual and/or physical disabilities to participate in sports.

Anusha is donating ALL proceeds of book purchases back to our All Abilities Program. "Logan Learns to Play" can be purchased from the front desk at the Pickering Soccer Centre for $15.00. You may also click the link below to purchase the book directly through Amazon.
Volunteers Needed

The Pickering Football Club’s All Abilities Program is a unique program which offers children and youth with special needs a chance to have fun, make friends and get fit through the great game of soccer. We have grown to become one of the largest programs in Canada. We are always looking for volunteers to join our program. You will receive specialised training and the opportunity to truly make a difference in our community. Join our team to help us continue to bring much needed sports programs to the many children  in our community who may never get a chance to play and have fun in a sports environment.

As a Volunteer, you will:
  • Work one-to-one with athletes, guiding them through the sessions
  • Work closely with other volunteers and instructors to learn how to be a great mentor and friend
  • Help set up and take down equipment
  • Demonstrate and help athletes learn soccer skills, physical literacy skills, and teamwork skills
  • Help athletes to make friends and have a great time!
