STCC CELEBRATES 55 YEARS OF ‘GRATITUDE AND GRIT’ AT GALA AND AWARDS BANQUET
|
|
Alumni, students, and friends of Springfield Technical Community College joined The STCC Foundation, community partners, industry leaders, faculty and staff to celebrate “55 Years of Gratitude and Grit” at the STCC Resilience Awards and Gala on Oct. 6th.
The event, the first to be held at the Springfield Marriott Downtown, drew about 250 people. The gala honored community leaders and innovative champions and raised more than $111,000 to benefit students, said Dr. Shai Butler, Vice President of Advancement and External Affairs and Executive Director of the STCC Foundation.
The gala featured reflections from STCC alumni Karolyn Burgos Toribio ’19 and Malachi Vivenzio ‘18, who met at the college and got married. They both said they found STCC welcoming and supportive, especially for students from low-income backgrounds.
Founded in 1967 and celebrating its 55th year, STCC is the only technical community college in Massachusetts and a Hispanic Serving Institution, which means more than 25 percent of students who attend identify as Hispanic or Latino.

STCC Dental Program Celebrates 50 years
The STCC Dental Program celebrates 50 years in 2022! On October 26th, our partner Delta Dental will join in the celebration by sharing their support of the Dental Program. Here's to 50 more great years!
The Dental Hygiene program educates men and women to become vital members of the dental health profession. The two-year basic core curriculum leading to an Associate in Science degree follows the guidelines adopted by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation. The Dental Hygiene graduate must successfully pass the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination and regional clinical licensing examinations before being eligible for state licensure. These examinations are administered in the final semester of the Dental Hygiene curriculum. Once these examinations are successfully completed, the graduate may apply for Dental Hygiene licensure in any of the fifty states. Graduates may transfer credits to a four-year institution to complete a Baccalaureate degree.
The Dental Hygiene program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation and by the United States Department of Education.

Are you a Ram Warrior?
Make an immediate and consistent impact on the future of STCC students today by enrolling in the Rams Warrior Society!
Many alumni and friends of the college have already enrolled, and represent STCC’s most loyal donors, those who make their annual gifts in monthly installments. Their impact on students as they transform their lives is incredible, consistent, and allows STCC to forecast support.
Your consistent gift allows the college to direct student support on a predictable basis, which for us is invaluable. The Rams Warrior Society is truly shaped by the leading philanthropists at the college – not only do they support our students, but their consistency allows us to better budget financial aid for our students.
"I truly believe that the mission of STCC is among the most important in Greater Springfield. What the school does for the long term growth of individuals and the region is immeasurably important. Springfield centric, regionally focused, the school prepares young people of all ages to build our economy. STCC, its administration, its staff, and its students play a key role for the future, and they are all worth investing in."
