Los Altos Announces Compost Availability for 2024

The City is introducing an updated compost program for 2024. The self-serve compost station will return for three weeks, the first of which is Wednesday, April 17 - Thursday, April 25, at the Los Altos Community Center parking lot. Residents must bring containers and gloves; shovels will be provided.

The agenda lists all the items to be discussed during the Tuesday, April 9 meeting. A study session will take place at 5:30 PM, where the City Council will receive a report from staff exploring the possibility of a Downtown park.

The City is developing a Downtown Parking Strategy that aims to fully and cost-effectively address the current and future parking needs of the downtown area. To help shape the strategy, community members are encouraged to share feedback through an online questionnaire.

You're Invited: Space-Themed Family Fun Day Next Weekend

Families of all ages are invited to join the next Family Fun Day on Saturday, April 13, from 10 AM-1 PM, at the Los Altos Community Center. Join in a morning full of space-themed games, crafts, movies, and read alouds. This event is free; no registration is required.

Los Altos CERT Academy Registration Underway

The upcoming hybrid Los Altos CERT Academy begins Tuesday, April 16. Santa Clara County Fire will train participants on disaster preparedness skills. In the event of a disaster, CERT volunteers can assist when first responders are not immediately available. Registration required; fee is $35 per person.
