Dear Members, Stakeholders and Supporters,

This week the #raisetheroof efforts at Pickering Soccer Centre finally took a big step closer to our return. Following some prolonged warmer weather the ice finally left the surface and our contractors were able to get the final exterior repairs made to the dome and get it inflated. This is the latest obstacle we have overcome in what has become a long, tough winter. The next stage is to assess the internal damage to lighting, insulation and the playing surface which will start early tomorrow morning.

In the meantime our Recreational programs are starting to wrap up in the City of Pickering Chestnut Hill Developments Recreational Complex while our Development (U8-U12) programs continue to run through April. All Competitive (13+) and OPDL teams are already on the turf fields at Kinsmen and Pine Ridge with each weekend seeing Pickering FC host exhibition games with clubs from across Southern Ontario. Last weekend saw Hamilton United Elite SC, Markham SC and West Ottawa SC in town. This weekend sees Vaughan SC bringing eight teams to Kinsmen Turf Field both Saturday and Sunday. If you get chance come and support our high performance teams as they prepare for the 2022 OPDL season.

Finally, the Pickering FC League1 teams, operated by ES&E, will finalize their squad selection this week for the much anticipated season kick off. Home kick off for our League1 Women's team is Saturday April 30th (6pm) v Electric City FC while the League1 Men are at home Sunday May 15th v Scrosoppi SC. Both games are scheduled for Kinsmen Turf Field. This League1 season promises to be bigger and better than ever so make sure you are part of the campaign and jump on our #PFCProud bandwagon. All Abilities Summer Program Assistant Job Opportunity

Pickering FC is seeking an outstanding candidate to join our team in the role of All Abilities Program Assistant. This 19-week part-time position will provide the right candidate with a fantastic opportunity to springboard their career into wider sport development opportunities and make a real impact on the sport landscape.

The role of the All Abilities Program Assistant is to lead the “on-field” segment of the outdoor All Abilities Program primarily by creating session plans and for providing leadership to all on-field personnel including other coaches/instructors, volunteers, summer and placement students, and athletes during each session and to perform other tasks and projects in collaboration with the All Abilities Coordinator.
