Growing the MHS Collections

The MHS is an active collector, adding to our collection on a regular basis. This summer alone, we acquired eight new sets of diaries, including two documenting the COVID-19 pandemic; papers from World War I and II (including those of one man who served in both); a letter from John Quincy Adams (pictured) declining an invitation due to “pulmonary weakness” written ten years before his death, and more. Once the new collections are properly housed and cataloged, they will be available for researchers to use in our reading room. Visit our website to learn more about our collections and to explore many items that are already digitized.
MHS Open on Saturdays

Beginning 24 September, the MHS will be open on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Visit us to explore Our Favorite Things (part two) or to do research in our reading room.
