Prince of Peace Church is called to know, love, and serve Jesus

as Savior and Lord, to share his healing and transformation with all people.

Rebuild, Restore, Renew

Restore……..

One of the things that happened to me during my crazy COVID restrictions is - I gained 15 pounds and stopped my walking routine. I did practice morning prayer 6 days a week. Interesting that physical things took a beating while my spiritual practices actually excelled. I’m now working on restoring a diet; body, mind, and spirit. Perhaps you would like to join me?

My menu now consists of 5 simple things that I take a bite of every single day to address my health: body, mind, and spirit. Here are the things, not burdensome because I do them only a couple of minutes a day, that I commend for your practice every day.

1.     Connect to a significant relationship. Call, text, e mail.

2.     Connect to God……..prayer, meditation, listening.

3.     Reading that will facilitate spiritual growth (Chapter or two of the Bible or other “spiritual books.”)

4.     Care of my body = food and move.  Good food in and walking at least 8,000 steps.

5.     Service to help someone else to get further down the road in life.

Since taking up this daily health menu I can’t tell you how may times I've messed up in their daily completion. However, I am moving forward, making progress. That is, after all, the goal of the Christian life, making progress in growing toward God.

Grace and Peace,

Fr Rand+

To those interested in healing prayer:

Thank you for being patient while I healed.

A meeting will be held on Sunday, June 12 at 9:00 to discuss the expansion of the healing prayer ministry here at Prince of Peace.

We will discuss the future of the ministry with emphasis on the make-up and scheduling of prayer teams, times and dates of future training/support sessions, and will answer any questions you might have. In these sessions we will concentrate on proven methods of healing prayer and learn to integrate them with whatever we're already doing. Your presence is important.

At 9:00 on the 12th, grab a cup of coffee and join us in the chapel!

Blessings,

Fr. Steve

Children and Family Ministry:

This last Sunday of Easter is perfect for the idea of “expecting the unexpected.” What could have been more unexpected than Jesus’ resurrection? Unexpected is our word of the week. We will meet Paul and Silas, in Acts 16:16-34, unexpectedly proclaiming their faith in prison by singing and praying. As the story unfolds, we will realize how God shows up in unexpected places. We thank God for the expected and unexpected. God always loves us through every experience!
