Robust Response to 2022 Park & Recreation Survey

We received nearly 600 responses to our recent Park & Recreation survey. Thank you for your time and your interest in our Township parks! Many fresh ideas and thoughtful suggestions were submitted. The Park & Recreation Board appreciates your input and will consider these comments when planning for future projects at Brownsburg Park, Lookout Park and other Township-owned properties.

The survey responses showed us that other local resources are enjoyed by residents too. Though located in Upper Makefield, these amenities are managed by the State:

Washington Crossing Historic Park. The Visitors Center, fields, and buildings at Washington Crossing Historic Park are operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and this state park is managed by Park staff. Visit the Park website for more about their facilities and staff contacts. There you can also read about the many educational programs and events, like the annual Christmas Day Crossing, offered by the non-profit Friends of Washington Crossing.

Delaware Canal State Park (Towpath). The canal, towpath and access bridges are managed by the Delaware Canal State Park, which is also under the purview of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Visit the Delaware Canal State Park website for more about the towpath and for staff contact information. The independent, non-profit Friends of the Delaware Canal conducts recreational and educational opportunities to boost engagement and preservation of the Canal.
