REMINDERS

  • Students who were placed on academic probation in the fall are required to take ACA 085. Please work with any advisees who may need to sign up for this class.
  • If you have any advisees who have not registered for Spring, please reach out to them. You can use the e-mail template in Slate to contact these students.
  • The deadline to apply for spring graduation is March 15. While this date might seem far off, now is a good time to check to see which of your advisees are eligible to graduate. For more information, attend the workshop on February 6 (see more below)

Baccalaureate Degree Plans (BDPS) can be helpful for advising transfer students. Watch this video for more information about how BDPs can help you to advise transfer students. Use this guide to know which science, math and foreign language courses are required for Central Carolina's most popular majors.

NC STATE LUNCH AND LEARN WORKSHOP


North Carolina State University has organized a lunch and workshop for Central Carolina Community College advisors to learn more about the admissions process at NC State. There will be a presentation from the Goodnight Scholars Program, C3, and the Admissions Office. This workshop will be interactive and include a mock application review so that the Central Carolina CC transfer advisors can see how NC State reviews applications. Lunch will be provided! Deadline to sign up is February 7.

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • Adjunct faculty now have access to the Advising Hub through the Student Snapshot! They just need to do a student search and click on "View" under the "View Snapshot" column heading to get access to alerts, notes, current classes and other important information.
  • Did you know you can put a photo in your Slate Profile! Just click on "Your Profile", click "Change" next to the avatar, upload a photo and save.
  • Your Advising Hub has many useful forms for you to check. You can check withdrawal requests or graduation applications by hovering over the forms icon, clicking on forms and then looking for the appropriate form.
