October 2021
Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done
what I have promised you."
-- Genesis 28:15
Dear fellow alumni:

Homecoming gives us all the feels! It’s a chance to come together as friends, remember where we came from, reminisce about the good old days, and look forward to the future.

The Bible verse above is The LORD speaking to Jacob in a vivid dream. His promise to “keep you wherever you go, and bring you back to this land” is true for all of us both now and for the heavenly homecoming that awaits!

I hope to see you on Saturday, October 9 for 2021 Alumni Homecoming and Family Weekend!

God’s continued blessings,
Linda (Schramke) Sproul ‘92
Director of Donor and Alumni Relations

Employers needed for Career Summit
Employers needed! CUAA's office of Career Engagement & Industry Relations is excited to host the 2021 Career Summit. We are eagerly seeking employers who are looking for talented employees and interns. Engage with students from all majors to grow your organizations talent pipeline! Registration is open now. Have questions? Contact Alisha Greaves, Director of Career Engagement, at alisha.greaves@cuaa.edu. For more information, click here. Alumni ambassadors for CUAA
The CUAA admission team is in-person! We are beyond excited about this and we know our visitors are, too, as we’ve had a record number of visitors on campus this year. In preparation for more in-person visits, we’ve already laid out an “In your Neighborhood” travel schedule that has us blanketing the Midwestern states (IL, MI, IN, OH, WI) and reaching a bit further (TX, NV, GA) as well. If you live in one of these states and want to stop by or would like to send a few future Cardinals to meet us, let us know and we’d be happy to share the details and times of when and where we will be! If you cannot make it, but still want to help be engaged with the CUAA admission team, please drop Kyle Thoms an email!

Join us for Homecoming! The admission team will be giving campus tours at 11am and 3 pm on Saturday, October 9. Tour registration is required. If you know a prospective high school junior or senior interested in CUAA, please encourage them to attend our visit day! Participation in the visit day also permits free admission into the football game and a special discount to our Cardinal Closet spirit store. It is an exciting time to be a Cardinal. Our application is now live for the fall 2022 semester and several visit opportunities as well! Thank you for your continued support and prayers as we look to expand our mission field.

Giving indirectly has made an impact
Did you know that some of your regular shopping activity can result in dollars going to CUWAA to support our students? And if you hold a Thrivent policy, you can direct your Thrivent "Choice Dollars" to us as well. Thanks to those of you who have already used these indirect ways to make an impact at your alma mater. During our last fiscal year, your "indirect" gifts have resulted in nearly $18,000 for CUWAA students. Not too shabby! To learn how to support your alma mater in this way, read on. If you do already, THANK YOU!
Amazon: When shopping online, shop through Amazon Smile and select Concordia University, Inc. as the recipient. (There are a lot of Concordias listed; to ensure you choose the correct one, you could also enter our EIN number in the search bar -- 39-0833608.)
Thrivent: Clients become eligible to direct Choice Dollars based on their insurance premiums and contract values. You can direct your "dollars" to Concordia.

Final Thought from
Campus Pastor Randy Duncan
Each morning during the school year, our campus pastor, Randy Duncan, sends out an email full of inspirational thoughts, concepts to ponder, scripture, and prayer requests. We thought we would share some of his thoughts with you each month for us to contemplate.

Final thought: Strength grows through struggles; courage develops in challenges; and wisdom matures from wounds.
