The Advocacy Network on Disabilities
The Advocacy Network on Disabilities- also known as AND - champions the rights of individuals with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities by promoting inclusion, providing services and advancing systems change.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, AND is a community of individuals, families, providers, advocates and others, working together to bring about change. It is Miami-Dade’s lead agency advocating, planning, providing, coordinating and arranging for services benefiting people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities.

AND works with The Children’s Trust and the organizations it funds to increase our community’s capacity to provide quality opportunities where all children come together to learn, play and grow. Additional funding from The Trust provides unprecedented opportunities for children with significant support needs to meaningfully participate in after-school and summer programs.
The Advocacy Network on Disabilities team.
AND has helped thousands of people with disabilities and their families find needed support and services and learn parenting skills. For some, AND is the starting point; for others, it feels like their last hope to find the help they need.

With many complex bureaucracies to navigate, obtaining services can be difficult and frustrating. Experienced family-friendly staff help identify and advocate for the services and supports families want and need. With additional support from Miami-Dade County, the United Way, the Miami Foundation, and others, AND provides family support, counseling, respite care and emergency assistance. During the time AND Family Support Team works with families and individuals, they also become more effective self-advocates.
