Dear Member, Supporter, Stakeholder,
We still remain in a holding pattern for a return to organised sports and can confirm that, following discussions with Ontario Soccer this week, the expectation is still in place for a June 14th start date. Ontario Soccer have provided the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries with their revised version of the proposed Return to Play (RTP). This has to be approved by the Ministry and then relayed to Member Clubs before we can return to the field.
Club Staff have attended Ontario Soccer webinars in the last week in order to learn of any changes to the Return to Play that we had delivered in Summer and Fall 2020. We don’t expect any significant changes but will provide information direct to your Inbox on the June 2021 Return to Play plan.
In the context of where we are as a Club and how we see the next few weeks and months playing out we are taking into account the following factors:
- That Ontario meets the vaccination targets in order for us to reach the June 14th projected start date for Stage 1 and a return to outdoor practice
- The direction from Ontario Soccer who may or may not adjust the Return to Play protocols that we implemented during our RTP July 2nd, 2020
- Any additional constraints that the Regional Public Health Unit may place on us and our community.
- Any additional constraints that the District Soccer Association may place on us.
Our strategic planning process for 2022-2026 has started and will now engage YOU, as Club Members, Supports and Stakeholders so look out for specific online surveys in the coming weeks. We want to hear your thoughts on the current direction and future plans for the Club. This is your club after all and we want you to be #PFCProud.
As a reminder the Canada Soccer Member Survey is currently out and you are encouraged to let our national association know how you feel. It may also give you some ideas for the direction we as a Club want to head.
