Commencement 2022 - Keynote Speaker and Honorary Degrees
To ACPHS Community,

We are looking forward to celebrating the achievements of our Class of 2022 at this year's Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Since this will be my last Commencement at ACPHS before I retire, I would like to take this opportunity to deliver the keynote address. I will reflect upon the progress we have made together over the years, how ACPHS graduates are needed in our society now more than ever, and how the college is poised to advance in the future with my successor, president-elect Dr. Toyin Tofade.

The college will be presenting honorary degrees at Commencement to Chris Conway and Chris Del Vecchio for their leadership in the life sciences and health care industries.

Chris Conway is President of Research and Development at Curia (formerly Albany Molecular Research, Inc. (AMRI), a global contract research, development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) offering products and services across the drug development spectrum. Curia is partnering with ACPHS on an FDA fellowship in manufacturing, a first of its kind for ACPHS and the FDA. Earlier in his career, Chris served in various roles in Johnson & Johnson’s portfolio of companies and completed its leadership development program. At Johnson & Johnson, he earned a number of awards, including the company’s Global Standard of Leadership Award. Chris is a member of the President's Advisory Council.

Chris Del Vecchio '88 is President & Chief Executive Officer of MVP Health Care. As a health care executive, he is a catalyst for innovation and systemic change and works tirelessly to make patients' lives easier and better. Chris knew from an early age that he wanted to use his abilities to help people and became a pharmacist after earning his B.S. in Pharmacy from ACPHS. Later, Chris earned his MBA in health systems to broaden his positive impact to thousands of people. Prior to joining MVP, Chris had a successful career as an entrepreneur and consultant in health care and technology.

We will continue to provide updates on Commencement as needed. Information is also provided on our Commencement web page. If you have questions in the meantime, you can email Patty Tompkins at Patricia.Tompkins@acphs.edu or call her at (518) 694-7123.

I look forward to seeing you all at this exciting and important milestone.
