New Undergraduate Journal Launches

WOVEN features writings from Dietrich College General Education courses that represent many genres to “showcase excellence in communication.” The journal will be released twice yearly.

Don Holmes, lecturer in writing and communication in the Department of English, felt compelled to dig deeper into Phillis Wheatley’s life to show the impact of her contribution to African American scholarship.

Students Discover New Perspectives on Translation

Janine Dutcher, special faculty researcher in the Health and Human Performance Lab along with David Creswell, the William Dietrich II Chair Professor of Psychology, found a sense of belonging early in the academic term provides an important signal to identify and help students at risk for depression later in the year.

Emily Jordan Sees High Rewards in Addiction Research

Emily Jordan, a junior studying biological sciences and psychology, uses computational tools to investigate how risk and reward mechanisms affect addiction outcomes.
