“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”
-- Luke 2:10-11
Dear fellow alumni:

I can still picture being packed in the Chapel and hearing Angel Gabriel’s triumphant announcement,

FEAR NOT!

If you’re like me, these and other Boar's Head moments hold a special place in your Concordia Christmas memories.

Maybe for you, it’s memories of dorm Christmas parties, secret Santa, and late-night runs to Meijer to make it through those intense study sessions. Maybe you remember snowball wars and sliding down the hill on cafeteria trays! Or maybe your favorite time was going home to celebrate Christmas after your last final. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

As you can see from the photo, our campus Christmas tree is lit, and is a joy to behold. Let your Christmas tree be a reminder that we are the light of the world, shining the great joy of our Savior, Christ The LORD. Announce the good news!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Esther strong: A story of enduring Concordia friendships
Esther Hall has been the setting for many a friendship forged at Concordia over the years. After graduation, many stayed a part of each other’s lives in a tertiary fashion. However, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the friends reinvigorated their efforts to stay in touch. The group began to meet regularly over Zoom. Click here to read more.
Grateful for Tyler Sigmon:
28-year-old alumnus establishes endowment
It's not every day you see an alum establishing an endowment to their alma mater before they even turn 30 years old. For those who know Tyler Sigmon (’19), this is no surprise. He is extraordinary in many ways. On Thursday, November 4, he officially established an endowment to CUAA to support students with disabilities. Sigmon is making an uncommon impact on future generations, and for this we are grateful. Click here to read more about this story.
Save the Date for A Downton Abbey Valentine Tea
February 12
Treat your loved one to a special afternoon on Saturday, February 12, at CUAA’s own Downton Abbey-style mansion, the historic Earhart Manor. This Valentine event will include a British-style afternoon tea, hors d’oeuvres, and decadent desserts, along with music and the chance to explore the period style rooms. Guests are welcome to wear Downton Abbey-inspired attire for this nostalgic event. The fun will begin at 2 pm. Admission is $100 per person and reservations must be booked in advance by emailing ConcordiaGuild@cuaa.edu or calling (734) 995-7509. Hosted by members of the Concordia Guild, this Downton Abbey Valentine Tea will raise funds for the Earhart Manor Endowment, established to preserve Ann Arbor’s own Downton.
In celebration of CUAA's church work programs
Since its inception in 1963, CUAA has prepared generations of church workers to further the Lord's Kingdom through the preaching and teaching of the Gospel. And we're proud to say this good work continues today. CUAA’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness recently released fall 2021 church work census data, and the numbers reflect the vibrancy of the university’s efforts to prepare future leaders for the Church. Together with the CUW campus, Concordia prepares the most church workers for the LCMS, according to fall 2021 numbers. The Ann Arbor campus alone brings in the fourth-largest church work population, despite having the smallest enrollment of the seven Concordia University System campuses, and its trajectory is on the rise with its total enrollment rising 75 percent since 2014. Advent meditations created by CUWAA faculty and staff
The Arrival of a Savior For All is a collection of individual meditations, composed by members of the Concordia University community on its Wisconsin and Michigan campuses. It is our prayer that you will approach this Advent season with newfound anticipation and enthusiasm through the Holy Spirit. That same anticipation and enthusiasm is embedded in the mission of Concordia University and is what drives the work of the university each and every day. To read the meditations, click here.
