Dear members of the CVA community,

As we have shared, the Board of Trustees has launched the search for our next Head of School. Hiring and supporting CVA’s leader is the Board’s most important responsibility. Ensuring the mission and community continue to thrive is at the forefront of our work. The Board and the Search Committee look forward to a successful outcome and aim to select the next Head of School by the end of 2023 for a term that will begin July 1, 2024.

The Board has retained Educators Collaborative, a nationally-known consulting group that specializes in finding senior leaders for independent schools, to shepherd the process and ensure we identify candidates with the skills and experience necessary to lead CVA’s unique program and continue to deliver on our promise of academic and athletic excellence. EC partner Tracy Bennett has already begun her work, and will be meeting with the Board, CVA’s leadership team, and other stakeholders in the coming weeks. 

We want to provide an opportunity for everyone (parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees) to share input as we craft the desired profile for our next leader. We hope you will take a moment to complete the Community Survey—your input is important and valued. Responses are anonymous and will go directly to Tracy—please complete the survey by Monday, July 24. 

Feedback from the survey will help shape the Information for Candidates document that provides important information about CVA, the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, and the desired qualities for our next Head of School. Throughout the process, input and involvement from CVA’s community will be highly valued.
