Today, #WEtechTurns10!
February 11th, 2021 marks an important milestone for WEtech Alliance. It’s a big anniversary – we’ve officially been around for a decade.

From humble beginnings in a corner office of Next Dimension Inc.'s head office, to our time at the Downtown Windsor Business Accelerator to our current co-location inside University of Windsor's EPICentre, the organization set out to champion the development and growth of the region’s entrepreneurial talent and tech ecosystem.

Over the last ten years, we’ve helped entrepreneurs find their first desk, their first customer, their first investor, their first international market and even their first employee.

To celebrate this birthday we’re taking a trip down memory lane to reflect on the accomplishments, milestones and victories of our regional tech community that WEtech Alliance has been a part of, since our inception. Most importantly, we want to highlight the people who have played pivotal roles in helping shape what WEtech Alliance is today.
MEMORY AND MILESTONE LANE
The founding industry board members in 2011 included Stuart Sutton (Sylectus), Adam Davis (Next Dimension Inc.), Frank Abbruzzese (AlphaKOR Group), Saverio Rinaldi (HP), Ross Rawlings (Radix Inc.), and Rob Courteaux (Progressive Software).
A little over 12 years ago, three friends - Ali Al-Aasm, Jakub Koter and Andy Kale - had been working on mobile apps during their spare time, when they made the decision to take a leap of faith and turn their hobby into a business, launching Red Piston in 2009.
”Technology has always been part of Windsor’s DNA,” said Marsh. “It’s always been a huge part of our tool and die and automotive industry in this region but WEtech was able to help support technology’s growth beyond the manufacturing sector.”
As we mark #WEtechTurns10, we thought is was only fitting to share some of the milestones we’ve had the privilege to be part of along the way. Take a look at 10 years of local tech and innovation in our new Milestones tracker.
