Reseda Neighborhood Council:

How Can I Help?

There’s three types of people, those who make things happen, those who let things happen, and those who wonder what happened. Don’t you want to be the first type?

Well, YOU CAN BE!

The RNC is your way to help make a difference in your community. From telling the city how you want development in your community to be done, to organizing cleanups, to working on problems currently facing your community like chronic homelessness and urban blight, to organizing events for the community’s youth and seniors, and initiating events like the annual Artwalk, the RNC is working to change things for the better. And we need your help to do it!

We currently have three Board Member positions open to be filled by active and dedicated community members who want to improve Reseda. These positions are for Business, , Young Adult and Youth Board Members. The qualifications for these seats can be found in our bylaws located at  https://resedacouncil.org/web1/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/RNC-Bylaws-Approved-11232020-1.pdf?x48066

We also have committees looking for volunteers to help such as the Planning and Land Use Management Committee that helps chart the course for Reseda’s development and evaluates and considers proposed developments in the community.

If you would like to apply for one of the Board Member Seats or join one of our committees, please contact the RNC secretary at [email protected]

NEW WATER CONSERVATION

RULES, EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2022

Under the rules, residents will be assigned two watering days a week based on their addresses — Monday and Friday for odd addresses and Thursday and Sunday for even ones — with watering capped at only eight minutes, or 15 minutes for sprinklers with water-conserving nozzles. No watering will be allowed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. regardless of the watering days.

Those who don’t comply with the new rules will receive a warning, followed by escalating fines for each subsequent violation, Adams said.

WHO ARE YOU??

If you operate a business in Reseda, you are entitled to list your business at no cost in the Reseda Business Directory.

This offer is open to all businesses in Reseda, whether you operate from a store front, office building or your own home. Businesses that operate from home will be listed as Home Business. Complete the attached form and return it by email, regular mail or call to have it picked up.

It is necessary to redo the Directory because we lost quite a few due to the Pandemic and many businesses remodeled to compensate. Closed businesses also allowed new businesses to open.

Money Management International (MMI) has agreed to provide credit and debt counseling with targeted support to small business owners in the City of LA at no cost.

BusinessSource Centers provide startup ventures and current small business owners various cost-effective tools to make their business a success. Through these tools, small businesses can grow and remain competitive within the City of Los Angeles.

The BusinessSource Centers also provide free assistance for the City of Los Angeles Sidewalk and Park Vendor Permit Program. Bilingual advisors are available to help complete the required documentation to secure the City of LA, State of California and County of Los Angeles Permits.

Most services are provided at NO COST to LA business owners and resident entrepreneurs.

  • MYLA311 also works for many other reasons to report problems to the city.
  • Report graffiti, downed trees, traffic sign problems, and more.
  • Take a photo with your phone and submit it to MYLA311. Your photo contains the location of the problem with time and date stamp, so you don't even have to type all of that in.....

"Woke up on a Sunday morning and found my driveway blocked by a large tree branch. Reported on MYLA311 and in a little over 2 hours, a City truck showed up and a man with a chain saw cut it up and stacked it in the parkway."

Use this quick method of reporting.
