It is not lost on me that my resurgent interest in such an endeavor is emerging at a moment of intense racial and historical reckoning; when thousands — millions even — of people are enduring physical, emotional, and economic trauma as a consequence of the unrelenting and shapeshifting COVID-19 virus, which disproportionately impacts BIPOC people. All the while the rich are somehow getting richer and those in poverty are getting poorer.
