“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
-- 2 Corinthians 5:20

Dear fellow alumni,
Who remembers “Ambassadors for Christ?” The photos above show some thoughtful and enthusiastic alumni from 1972 who attended an evangelism conference and were part of the Ambassadors for Christ program. You may remember that the program was formed to encourage students to share with each other, go out and witness together and bring others to Christ. (We can’t wait to see our 1972 alums at their 50th reunion in August!)
St. Paul tells us that as Christians, “we are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.”
CUAA would love to develop your call as ambassadors to help us train up the next generation of Christians! Do you know any high school youth who would be a good pastor, teacher, deaconess, family life, or music director? Please encourage them to explore church vocations during our overnight TRINITY TIME retreat, which will be held on campus July 31-August 1!
Keep on scrolling for our “Alumni Ambassador” corner for details about our special LCMS outreach opportunities, and help us live out our Concordia mission to serve Christ in the Church and the world!
Do you have an idea for our Alumni Ambassador program? I would love to hear from you!
God’s blessings,

Following in their father's footsteps:
Five Concordians share how their dads inspired them
|
|
A good father makes all the difference in a child's life. For this reason, a godly man will take seriously the responsibility he's been given to model Christian character to the next generation. In honor of Father’s Day last month, we shared the stories of a few students who are following in their father’s footsteps. (Special shout out to our alumni dads in this story, Jim VanDellen ’91 and Tim Halboth ‘85!)

Attention, student government alumni!
|
|
Were you a dorm senator, or did you serve in SGA? We are organizing a student government alumni group, and need help identifying past leaders. (The Primatums help, but they only go so far!)
Why do WE WANT YOU? We’d love to:
- Develop a professional network for SGA alumni and their families
- Offer mentoring opportunities between SGA alumni and current SGA representatives
- Create an SGA endowment to provide annual funds for SGA community service events and campus projects
Interested in serving on the planning team? WE WANT YOU for that, too! Please email Linda Sproul to let us know if you were a student government representative. If you’d like more details about joining the fun, reach out to Dean Pate ('87) , past president. Thank you for your service!

Five can’t-miss summer activities in Ann Arbor
|
Planning to visit campus this summer? It is no secret that Ann Arbor is routinely ranked among the top college towns in America. The city’s vibrant cultural scene, abundant restaurants, and many parks and outdoor amenities make it an attractive city for many. While many CUAA students have returned home for the summer, Ann Arbor continues to shine all summer long. For those who are in the area, it’s worth it to take a look at the “Tree City’s” summertime schedule. Click here.

Alumni Ambassadors
Have you ever wondered...
|
HAVE YOU ever wondered (or even complained!)…
What is being done to recruit more church workers?
We already have a shortage of pastors, what will happen five years from now?
Why don’t we have more LCMS students attending Concordia?
Your alumni office wonders and prays (and even complains!) about this, too. As a direct response and as part of our mission strategy to increase our Lutheran identity and enrollment, Jeff Frosch (pictured) has joined the CUWAA team to visit LCMS churches and schools to encourage our youth to consider church work careers and give them the nuts and bolts of how to apply to Concordia.
Do you belong to an LCMS church/school? We would love to talk to you to set up a visit! Contact Jeff at jeff.frosch@cuw.edu or text/call 512-420-3343. Click here for more details about our LCMS outreach!

Final Thought from
Campus Pastor Randy Duncan
|
Each morning during the school year, our campus pastor, Randy Duncan, sends out an email full of inspirational thoughts, concepts to ponder, scripture, and prayer requests. We thought we would share some of his thoughts with you each month for us to contemplate.
Final thought: Worry is a misuse of imagination.
