The 2020 12 Days of Development will kick off tomorrow with a spotlight on active development in our area - anyone excited to see who'll be featured? As you know, we share the latest and greatest stories throughout this series. As a bonus #FBF, here's a quick look at how several of recent year's featured projects turned out.

CEDAR FAIR RESORT AND ATTRACTION MANAGEMENT SCHOOL | The RAAM program kicked off with 37 students in the inaugural cohort of summer 2020, and despite COVID-19, students gained valuable experience helping to open and operate an amusement park. Students, faculty, and staff were grateful for the opportunity to offer classes face-to-face in the school's brand new state-of-the-art facility in downtown Sandusky and look forward to having both a junior and senior cohort begin in June 2021.

QUARRY HILL ORCHARDS | The new/old Market Barn is open! While materials were salvaged from a 19th century barn, the spacious new location has many modern upgrades and retail options for your family, friends, and colleagues. The Gammie family and their team are enjoying new efficiencies in the operations and a place to showcase the products they love.

MUCCI FARMS | Mucci Farms' first US project, the eventual 75-acre greenhouse/warehouse operation in Huron, is being constructed in 3 x 25-acre phases. The first phase has been harvesting and servicing retailers since 2018. This year, construction on phase 2 was completed, and the team is busy harvesting their first crops. The company recently announced plans to begin the 3rd and final phase project. They are quickly becoming a community pillar with a recent major gift to the Huron Athletic Boosters Club.

K&K INTERIORS | The new warehouse and shipping facility at 4101 Venice Road in Sandusky has allowed K&K to move forward with several aspects of its strategic plan. Very narrow aisle racking has allowed inventory to be consolidated into a central warehousing location, which has improved our shipping line layout, productivity, and added scalability. This accommodates their new and growing eCommerce launches, increasing sales while also increasing efficiencies and profitability.

DAVE'S FOOD MART | This locally and family owned Rt. 250 staple rebuilt this location over the course of 2019 and opened their new facility in January of 2020. With none of us knowing what the next months would have in store, the Fisher family has handled the transition to a new normal in the retail and food and beverage business impressively. Becoming strong advocates for shopping locally and shopping safely, they really are so much more than just an average gas station. The Fishers "thank the community for being so supportive of the new building and for the awesome team to help keep it going."

GUNDLACH SHEET METAL | A large facility investment involves careful planning, foresight, and fingers crossed. Fortunately, the 2018 Gundlach office, warehouse, and yard improvements have the big impact they were looking for in ability to serve their customers and work conditions for their employees. Safety, maneuverability, and delivery speed are up with increased under-roof warehousing, storage, and private property for unloading large units. "Looking back, we are extremely happy in the improvements we have made and are pleased to continue serving the greater Sandusky area and northern Ohio."
