Scholarship Recipient now Attending USC!
"I have been looking forward to this moment for a long time. AVC provided the foundation I need to be successful at USC. I am ready."

Pamela is a familiar success story at Antelope Valley College. She started attending AVC as a single mother of 4, unemployed and knew she needed to get an education to set an example for her children.

“The AVC faculty embraced me with open arms and guidance. I got over my fears, worked hard, and discovered so much about myself in the process.”

While attending AVC, Pamela received multiple AVC Foundation scholarships. Not only did these scholarships provide the financial support she needed, but it also offered her encouragement to succeed. "Despite my struggles, knowing there were people out there who saw me, believed in me, and invested in my success meant the world to me. I never felt like I was alone because I knew I had a support system there to get me through it."

This fall, Pamela began the next phase of her educational journey at USC, where she plans on obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

“Thank you to all who have donated to the AVC Foundation. I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what I have without hard work and the scholarship support I received. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!”

Pamela, although you are now you a USC Trojan, you will always be a Marauder. Once a Marauder. Always a Marauder!

Fall Enrollment Indicates Students are Taking More Classes
This fall, more than 14,700 students have registered for classes at Antelope Valley College. Although this is a slight decrease from last semester, our full-time equivalency (FTE) has increased. These figures indicate that although the amount of students has decreased, the students are taking more classes. The class schedule was adjusted in hopes that it would allow students to coordinate their schedule more effectively. This schedule change may have contributed to this increase in the FTE.
A Bright Tomorrow is on the Horizon
Measure AV Construction Update
future site of Sage Hall (former OF1 location)
In 2016, thanks to the support of our community, the local bond Measure AV was approved by a margin of 66.92 percent. “Measure AV will fund college infrastructure essential to the 21st-century learning required for jobs in aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, health, and other critical local industries,” President/Superintendent Ed Knudson said. “These funds will ensure the college can meet the educational and workforce development needs of the Antelope Valley for the next 50 years.”

Many of the classroom and student service facilities at AVC have not been updated in over 50 years. Academic facilities need safety upgrades, repairs, and other improvements to meet modern job-training, technological, and safety standards to keep the college in good condition for years to come.
