BHA Principal's Update
Assalamu Alaikum Dear BHA families,

We hope you and your family had a relaxing fall break. We were excited to welcome back our students and even more happy to see their excitement to be back! Thank you to all who showed their school spirit on Twin Day. We pray that Allah SWT keep us all healthy and strong and help us to fulfill our obligations and responsibilities. Ameen.

STUDENT ABSENCES
In an effort to properly track and excuse absences, please kindly call our office if your child is sick or is going to miss a session. For a student to be excused for middle and high school, the parent needs to call the office and let Sr. Saba know. A student will not be excused based on his/her own saying they were sick. Sr. Saba will inform the teachers if a parent has called. If not, the student will be marked absent and not be given class participation points for that day/class.
A Note From The P.E. Teachers
A huge shoutout to our middle and high school students for the discipline, integrity and responsibility they have shown with the P.E. Logs. It’s been tough but you have taken charge of your physical education and have shown such responsibility in being active and submitting the logs every week. We recognize and admire that mashaAllah!
We love reading about your adventures, whether it is a regular hiking, biking, or soccer routine, or the atypical snorkling, bodyboarding, and horseback riding activities. Some of you tell us stories of how you spent time with siblings and friends. Keep sharing. We read every word (well, almost every word)!

Students Highlight:

From Ms. Saima:
I wanted to give a huge shoutout to my virtual students: Sanaa, Yusuf A., Habibah, Abdullahi, Emma, Khalil, Maryan, and Mohammed. These students have blown me away with their independence and responsibility. When I ask them to do something, they always do it. And they do their best. This is very difficult with distance learning, but they are just rocking it! Being on time to EVERY SINGLE ZOOM SESSION. They participate, and they have fun. Every time I think about their growth my heart fills with so much love and pride. I am so proud of my virtual kiddos. We have truly become a family <3 Keep up the amazing work!

Travel over School Breaks

California is currently under a travel advisory. If your family is considering travel or planning a trip at this time, please review this important information from the CDC. We appreciate your support and diligence in helping us reduce exposure to students and staff.
RECIPE SWAP
Let's come together during the upcoming breaks and share our favorite recipes with our BHA friends! Send a video or a simple infographic and we will post for others to try! Virtual sharing is caring!

Please upload your video to google drive and share the link with us a an editor to : office@issdweb.org If you need help doing this, please refer to the following tutorial: How to upload files on Google Drive and share through link | How to use Google drive
Thank you to all who participated in Twin Day and showed your school spirit!
December Character trait:
Trustworthiness
AssalamuAlaikum Parents,

This month Bright Horizon Academy will be learning about TRUSTWORTHINESS, inshaAllah.

Each month we focus on a character trait by exploring what it means, why it’s important and how we can incorporate these traits every day.

We have attached our Character Education newsletter with some ways that you can help your child continue to learn about trustworthiness.

We suggest that you print the newsletter and place on your fridge or a family bulletin board as a point of reference for this month.

We are contracted with Lands End to provide our school uniforms. Please refer to the attached document for vendor link and uniform requirements.
