On March 7, the Central Valley celebrated the 36th annual Kids Day both in-person and virtually as we sought to restore Kids Day's wonderful traditions while continuing what went so well during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than two thousand volunteers returned to the streets to sell the special edition Kids Day postcards in lieu of newspapers. We are excited to announce that this year's Kids Day raised $365,740!
Thank you to our media partners, ABC30 and The Fresno Bee, for their continued dedication to this beloved community event; our Super Kid, Big Kid and Kid at Heart sponsors for their ongoing commitment to Valley Children's mission; and to the countless community members of the Central Valley that gave so generously in support of our patients and families.
Since the inaugural Kids Day, this beloved community event has raised more than $11.1 million to meet the most immediate needs of patients at Valley Children’s Hospital.
Donations through Kids Day will help children like our Kids Day Ambassador, Connor, pictured above. Connor received lifesaving care from the expert clinicians at Valley Children's after being born at just 24.5 weeks gestation and weighing only 1 pound, 13 ounces.
Today, Connor is 11 years old and thriving! He is able to walk with the use of a walker and can fly down the street on his adaptive tricycle. Connor enjoys playing with his friends at school, gaming at home and participating in kayaking and baseball through Valley Children’s Adaptive Sports Program.
The impact of Kids Day for more than three decades now continues to allow us to provide life-saving care for generations to come. Thank you once again, and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2024!
