NAR cracks down on hate speech via new Code of Ethics rules
REALTORS® who engage in hate speech or discriminatory conduct even outside of their real estate practice could face disciplinary action under the newly adopted changes to Article 10 of the Code of Ethics, which took effect immediately. The National Association of REALTORS®’ Board of Directors approved the changes last week in an effort to hold members to a higher standard of ethics in everything they do. NAR President Vince Malta called the passage of the proposal “a monumental moment for NAR” in reaffirming its commitment to fair housing. Learn more here.
New MLS standards approved by NAR directors
NAR's Board of Directors approved eight recommended changes to the standards governing REALTOR®-owned MLSs, which are intended to strengthen accountability on the part of the services, brokers and agents. Under the new standards, participants are required to submit accurate listing data and correct known errors, MLSs must have a process for identifying potential fair housing violations, and there are new sanctions for violations. Help us turn $10,000 into $76,000 to support PATH services for homeless teens
Your donation can help GSAR and the Oswego County Chapter meet its goal of raising $10,000 for the Oswego County Opportunities Program to Assist Teenage Homeless (PATH). If our annual campaign, dedicated to the memory of Marilyn Boyzuick, reaches that goal, PATH will receive more than $76,000 in state and federal matching funds.

These funds will mean the transitional living program for homeless young people, designed to help them learn independent living skills, continue their education and become responsible members of the community, will be providing services during the holidays and into 2021. PATH also provides clothing, school supplies, health care assistance, transportation and more. Click here to donate before Nov. 25. Anyone donating $100 or more will be recognized in next week's Hot News. GSAR thanks sponsors Paragon Home Loans and Fulton Savings Bank.

MLS Tips
SupraWEB helps agents be more efficient
This week's MLS tip focuses on the SupraWEB agent website. With SupraWEB you can perform several functions from your computer or mobile device. The functions that are displayed in SupraWEB depend on the type of electronic key, key service, device choice, and features chosen by the association/MLS. Learn more here.
Are you using the updated Clareity Dashboard link?
Earlier in the year, Clareity updated the link to its Dashboard, which is where members log in to access all their MLS services. You should be using https://portal.mynysmls.com. However, Clareity is noticing traffic still going to the old server. To encourage members to use the correct link, Clariety will be giving a “warning” notice that they must update their bookmarks/favorites. They will require members to click a link that takes them to the correct login page. Then after a week, this would be set to “expired." It will then provide the notice to update the bookmark and require members to physically type in the correct URL.  Please note these warnings will only be seen by members using the old URL.
