Announcing the History Source

High-quality primary sources are the key to making history relevant and meaningful for K–12 students. Yet teachers often lack the time to locate these materials and adapt them for the classroom. The best content is often hidden behind a paywall or not customizable for learners of all levels. Therefore, the MHS has launched the History Source, a free, easy-to-use resource hub for K–12 social studies, ELA, and civics classrooms. It offers primary source sets, drawn from the broad collections of the MHS, as well as teacher tools and resources that are adaptable and accessible for all learners.

New MHS Podcast Episode Available 15 January

Season 2 of The Object of History podcast continues 15 January with A World War II Bomber Pilot’s Canine Companion.

In this episode, we explore the story of Thunderbolt, a dog who served as a companion to an American bomber pilot and POW, Lt. Robert Payne, during World War II. Research Department Intern Ian Morrison guides us through this story by highlighting letters and photos that he discovered in the MHS collection.
