Bears Ears National Monument Restored!

Members and friends,

Today marks a historic day as we applaud President Biden and his administration for signing a proclamation restoring Bears Ears, Grand Staircase-Escalante, and Northeast Canyons and Seamounts National Monuments to their previous size and protection status.

This restoration is imperative to protect lands of unique character and beauty, biodiversity, innumerable historic and prehistoric structures, as well as objects of cultural and scientific interest.

While we celebrate, we also know our work is just beginning. Broads now calls on the White House to allocate adequate funding to the federal agencies responsible for managing monitoring, and protecting all of our public lands. And we will continue to fight as allies alongside our Tribal partners to ensure just and equitable co-management occurs for generations to follow.

Thank YOU to all that have visited and celebrated these beautiful lands, that have written letters and made phone calls, and that have supported Broads' advocacy work on this issue. We look forward to continuing to advocate for wild lands protections with you!

Wildly yours,
Great Old Broads for Wilderness
