Happy New Year Jag Family!

Our continued mission here at USA One Stop is to provide your student with the resources and support they may need during their Jaguar journey.

Spring 2023 Avoid the Void

The spring semester is only a few days away, and along with it comes the balance deadline date. Your student's Spring 2023 balance must be paid in full by January 4th, 2023 to avoid the risk of being voided from their courses.

Students who live on-campus and miss this payment deadline also risk being removed from their residence hall and/or having their meal plan suspended.

Winter WOW

We are excited to see the Spring 2023 semester kick-off with the Winter Week of Welcome (WOW) again this year! The Winter WOW is designed to help students celebrate the start of a new semester by connecting with people, places, and groups!

During the Winter WOW, your student will have the opportunity to attend various events where they can meet other students, learn about student organizations, and discover opportunities to connect with faculty and staff who are here to support their academic success.

Your student is invited to Rise & Shine with our One Stop team on January 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Meisler Hall, Suite 2100. They can enjoy free breakfast treats and Starbucks coffee as we sit and chat together!

While they are enjoying breakfast, they are welcome to ask any questions they may have about their financial aid, scholarships, and/or their student account. Plus, if they stop by their name will be entered in a drawing to win a Starbucks gift card. We can’t wait to meet them!

1098-T

Did you know your student may be eligible for a federal education tax credit? All students enrolled in credit courses at the University of South Alabama are required by the IRS to be issued a 1098-T by January 31st each year.

This form notifies your student and the IRS of the qualified tuition and related expenses (QTRE) your student paid during the preceding tax year that may qualify them or you as their guardian for educational tax credits.

The Office of Student Accounting provides the 1098-T via PAWS for students who opted in to receive the form electronically. Otherwise, the form is sent through U.S. mail. Click here for more detailed information.

Jag Student Support Network (JSSN)

The Jag Student Support Network (JSSN) is one of the many services provided by the University Counseling and Testing Center in an effort to support the holistic development of its students.

The JSSN is comprised of South Alabama students who offer fellow students hope, support, transparency, and advocacy in order to build resilience to thrive in their lives and within the USA community. Peer mentors involved with the JSSN receive extensive training and are equipped to offer peer support with various matters including anxiety, leadership skills, stress management, and more.
