Associate Professor James Huguley has been named as the Pitt School of Social Work’s inaugural Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADDEI) will provide essential leadership and focus to support the school’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a school that is welcoming and respectful of all people, and one that advances equitable, inclusive, antiracist, and socially just aims and practices across the school’s internal-and external-facing activities. Alumna named one of Pittsburgh's 40 under 40
MSW alumna Anette Nance was named one of Pittsburgh Magazine's 40 under 40 for 2021. Nance is currently Director of Partnerships for Family Support at the University of Pittsburgh Office of Child Development. Read more.
Doctoral student wins Scholarship
Doctoral student Christopher Thyberg’s paper “Preparing Social Workers for Anti-Oppressive Practice: Evaluating the Role of Critical Social Work Education” has been selected to receive the Joseph and Helen Eaton Scholarship for the best single-authored work written by a first or second year doctoral student. This scholarship comes with an award of $500 which may be used for educational expenses including research costs, travel, books and software.
