What is a Limited Submission?
A limited submission solicitation (RFA, RFP, etc.) places a cap on the number of proposals that Auburn may submit to a sponsor. Auburn coordinates limited submissions by sending out a notification via this newsletter and creating competitions in the Auburn University Competition Space (also known as InfoReady).To apply to any limited submission posted below, click on the link and search for your competition reflected on the page. Please refer to the Limited Submission Procedures page for a list of requirements.

The Directorate of International Communications and Information Policy (CIP) at the Department of State announces this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to conduct a series of regional workshops on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and their policy implications to government officials, policymakers, researchers, and emerging leaders and influencers in the field of artificial intelligence. The project award will support expenses for beneficiaries to attend international meetings on AI. It will also provide targeted technical assistance to select countries to aide in the development of national strategies, plans, or regulations relating to AI.

The Rural Placemaking Innovation Challenge is a technical assistance and planning process for qualified entities to support rural community leaders to create places where people want to live, work, and play. This initiative is to provide planning support, technical assistance, and training to communities to foster placemaking activities in rural communities. Funds can help enhance capacity for broadband access, preserve cultural and historic structures, and support the development of transportation, housing, and recreational spaces. Applicants must demonstrate existing and proposed partnerships with public, private, philanthropic, and community partners to provide assistance. This funding announcement supports the delivery of technical assistance and training in visioning, planning, and assisting communities to implement placemaking efforts in rural communities under the Rural Placemaking Innovation Challenge (RPIC).

The NIH Director's Early Independence Award supports exceptional junior investigators who wish to pursue independent research soon after completion of their terminal doctoral degree or post-graduate clinical training, thereby forgoing the traditional post-doctoral training period and accelerating their entry into an independent research career. For the program to support the best possible researchers and research, applications are sought which reflect the full diversity of the research workforce. Individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from underrepresented groups and from the full spectrum of eligible institutions in all geographic locations, are strongly encouraged to apply to this Funding Opportunity Announcement. In addition, applications in all topics relevant to the broad mission of NIH are welcome, including, but not limited to, topics in the behavioral, social, biomedical, applied, and formal sciences and topics that may involve basic, translational, or clinical research. The NIH Director's Early Independence Award is a component of the High-Risk, High-Reward Research program of the NIH Common Fund.

The updated page also includes disclosure guidance (including examples) as to what type of information/relationships needs to be disclosed. This updated information also includes multiple links to agency-specific tools/FAQs.

In an effort to provide the community with helpful reference information regarding pre-award and post-award disclosure information in the biographical sketch and current and pending support proposal sections, NSF has developed a disclosure table entitled, NSF Pre-award and Post-award Disclosures Relating to the Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending Support, to identify where these disclosures must be provided in proposals as well as in project reports. Proposers and awardees may begin using this resource immediately to assist with completing the relevant proposal and project report sections. As a reminder, current and pending support information is used to assess the capacity of the individual to carry out the research as proposed, as well as to help assess any potential overlap/duplication with the project being proposed.

AU Libraries is partnering with the U.S. Census Bureau to offer three webinars of particular interest to our campus and local community:

- How to Access Race and Ethnicity Data (July 23rd)
The U.S Census is one of the most important datasets available to researchers and the public. Census data is used to guide business and economic development, community planning, social services, and healthcare delivery. At the conclusion of the webinars, participants will:
- Have an increased awareness of the vast data products available through the U.S. Census Bureau

Have resources and digital toolkits to assist with navigating data on data.census.gov and other Census sites

This notice solicits applications to fund projects that test interventions to identify family-centered factors that promote self-management and prevention of Type 2 diabetes among racial and ethnic minority and disadvantaged families who have a member(s) aged 12 and older with Type 2 diabetes. Through the testing of family-centered interventions, OMH expects the Family-Centered Approaches to Improving Type 2 Diabetes Control and Prevention initiative to identify specific family-centered factors (e.g., structural, instrumental, functional, cultural and social 3 needs) that affect patient self-management of diabetes (e.g., physical activity, healthy nutrition) and family members' health outcomes

Science of Learning and Augmented Intelligence (SL) supports potentially transformative research that develops basic theoretical insights and fundamental knowledge about principles, processes and mechanisms of learning, and about augmented intelligence - how human cognitive function can be augmented through interactions with others, contextual variations, and technological advances.

The Social Psychology Program at NSF supports research and research infrastructure to advance basic knowledge in social psychology. Proposed research should carry strong potential for creating transformative advances in the basic understanding of human social behavior. Among the many research topics supported are: social cognition, attitudes, social and cultural influence, stereotypes, motivation, decision making, group dynamics, aggression, close relationships, social and affective neuroscience, social psychophysiology, emotions, prosocial behavior, health-related behavior, and personality and individual differences. Proposals that develop new theories or methods for understanding social behavior are highly encouraged. Research samples should represent substantial ranges of ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and other dimensions of human populations. Interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and convergent research approaches are encouraged.

The IUSE: EHR is a core NSF STEM education program that seeks to promote novel, creative, and transformative approaches to generating and using new knowledge about STEM teaching and learning to improve STEM education for undergraduate students. It supports projects that seek to bring recent advances in STEM knowledge into undergraduate education, that adapt, improve, and incorporate evidence-based practices into STEM teaching and learning, and that lay the groundwork for institutional improvement in STEM education. In addition to innovative work at the frontier of STEM education, this program also encourages replication of research studies at different types of institutions and with different student bodies to produce deeper knowledge about the effectiveness and transferability of findings.

The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to encourage behavioral intervention development research. Specifically, test efficacy, conduct clinical trials, examine mechanisms of behavior change, determine dose-response, treatment optimization, and/or ascertain best sequencing of behavioral, combined, sequential, or integrated behavioral and pharmacological treatments. Research of interest includes but is not limited to Stage II and Stage III efficacy research, including: (1) drug abuse treatment interventions, including interventions for patients with comorbidities; (2) drug abuse treatment and adherence interventions; (3) drug abuse treatment and adherence interventions that utilize technologies to boost effects and increase implementability and sustainability; (4) interventions to prevent the acquisition or transmission of HIV infection among individuals in drug abuse treatment; (5) interventions to promote adherence to drug abuse treatment, HIV and addiction medications; and (6) interventions to treat substance misuse and chronic pain.
