Dear Players, Supporters, Stakeholders,
It is wonderful to see players, coaches and match officials back at the field doing what they love to do. Driving around the field locations this week it has to be said we are blessed with some fantastic community field locations that only add to the joy of playing and watching soccer. Many of our fields benefited from a year of rest due to the pandemic, and they look better than ever! We will continue to work with City staff on any field maintenance issues so if you see something of concern please let our Facility Manager know Email JOE
While we have managed to fill the Recreational coaching positions for U8 and above we are still in need of some support with our U3-U6 age groups. Sessions have been a lot of fun and there are plenty of smiles, but adding a few more volunteers will help take us from good to great! Support is provided for Recreational coaches through our weekly session plan and technical support at the field so no one is left on their own.
Finally, our Competitive leagues kicked into full gear this week and next week the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), Ontario Soccer's jewel in the crown will kick off. This Saturday (July 24th) we are excited to welcome Tecumseh Soccer Club to Kinsmen Park. We would love to see as many supporters out there as possible with games starting at 10am and continuing through to 7pm there will be plenty to see. The Tecumseh club is based just outside Windsor and will be making the 4 hour drive to Pickering for these important pre-season games.
We look forward to seeing you out on the field and don't forget - masks are still required for spectators until Ontario Soccer tell us otherwise!
Stay safe.
