We have a great Pre-Conference Hospitality Event on Tuesday, October 25 hosted by Carson Law with drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and beautiful downtown Fort Wayne views! Our Sportsman's Raffle has a Grand Prize of $1,500 CASH!
 
Our Exhibit Hall is SOLD OUT, and we're excited to welcome back many of our loyal Associate Members, as well as some great new companies to showcase their top-notch products and services to our utilities from all over the state. Hotel group rates are sold out as well, however, there are plenty of hotels in the area that still have availability.

Annual Membership Meeting - Your Vote Counts!

The annual membership meeting of the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water is scheduled for 7:30am on Thursday, October 27 during Fall Conference at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. During this meeting, three (3) members of the Alliance Board of Directors will be elected to fill three open Director seats.

In order to cast votes for potential board members, the Certification of Delegate form must be completed and returned to the Alliance by Wednesday, October 26th at 3:30pm.

Best Tasting Water in Indiana Showdown!
These four utilities have each won a Regional Water Taste Test this year and are moving on to the 2022 Best Tasting Water in Indiana Competition to take place during lunch on Wednesday, October 26 at the Grand Wayne Convention Center during Fall Conference.

Alliance wins an NRWA Award of Excellence!
We’re overjoyed to share that we won a 2022 National Rural Water Association (NRWA) Award of Excellence at the recent WaterPro Conference in National Harbor, Maryland. Your Alliance Team is this year’s award winner for Outstanding Achievement in Training! Shoutout to all our staff and our fellow water professionals who have allowed us to provide training throughout our great state!
National Apprenticeship Week Coming Up!
2022 National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) will be celebrated November 14-20NAW is a nationwide celebration that brings together industry leaders, career seekers, labor, educational institutions, and other critical partners to demonstrate their support for apprenticeship. NAW also provides apprenticeship sponsors with the opportunity to showcase their programs, facilities, and apprentices in their community.

The Alliance of Indiana Rural Water is Indiana’s only nationally recognized apprentice program with nearly 60 current active apprentices in the program!
Scholarship Clay Shoot & Golf Outing Wrap Up!
We had so much fun at the 17th Annual Scholarship Clay Shoot & Golf Outing! All proceeds from the events will be benefiting the Alliance Scholarship Fund, which provides several scholarships to children of eligible Alliance Members who will be furthering their education after high school!

Last Chance to Send your Photos!
We're working on creating our 2023 Alliance Calendar, and we'd love to feature photos from our members! Pictures of your water plant, staff working on a project, scenic pictures, your local water tower, fire hydrant...you name it, we want it!

Send us your photos with the subject line "Calendar Photo Submission" to alliance@inh2o.org, and your picture might just be featured! Please also include who took the picture and the location of the photo. Photos should be at least 300 dpi, and from somewhere in Indiana.
Imagine a Day Without Water
October 20 is Imagine a Day Without Water, a National Day of Action to raise awareness about the value of water.

No community can thrive without water, and every American deserves safe, reliable, & accessible water services. One of the things you can do as a rural system is get this info out to your customers! This is a great day to educate the public about the importance of learning about where their water comes from, how their water system works, and any water challenges affecting the community. You can advocate to leaders to invest in your water system and address water challenges. The resources page includes social media graphics and templates for written materials.

EPA Announces Opportunities for Public Input on Environmental Justice for the LCR Improvements
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will host two virtual public meetings to discuss and solicit input on environmental justice considerations related to the development of the proposed Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI). These sessions will provide opportunities for EPA to share information about the upcoming LCRI rulemaking and for individuals to offer input on environmental justice considerations related to the rule.

Regional Water Planning Meetings for the Indiana Finance Authority dates and locations are now available on the IFA website. Please review the map to find the meeting scheduled for your area and plan to attend.
 
As a reminder, utilities are required to attend at least one regional meeting a year. If you have questions, please email WaterResources@ifa.in.gov.
