Inflammation Impacts on Neuronal Level

Neuroscientists in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine and the FAU Brain Institute recently launched a new study into neuroinflammation and its impact on psychopathologies, such as anxiety, depression and cognitive decline.

The National Institutes of Health recently awarded them a $1.7 million grant for a novel project that will investigate how inflammation influences neurotransmission and how it may trigger behavioral changes. READ MORE.
Expert Advice for Essential Workers

Joseph G. Ouslander, M.D., professor of geriatric medicine and senior advisor to the dean in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, recently published an article with a number of recommendations for front-line nursing home staff and clinicians to protect against COVID-19 infections.

Ouslander's article was published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. READ MORE.
Student Entrepreneurs Win Top Three Awards

Congratulations to three student-led organizations from the Division of Research FAU Wave Program

The three student entrepreneurs, Polka Box, Aerlogs and Princesses Against Cancer, earned first, second and third place, respectively, in the 2020 FAU Business Plan Competition hosted by the Adams Center for Entrepreneurship.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) recently created a webinar related to the requirements on how to use the NSF approved formats.

  • Policy guidance for preparation of the biographical sketch and current and pending support sections of the proposal.
  • A walk-through of the user experience in accessing these formats in NSF systems.
