Skokie July 4th Parade & 3-D Fireworks Cancelled
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Village of Skokie, Skokie Park District officials, as well as the Skokie Fourth of July Parade Committee, have reached the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Skokie Fourth of July Parade and the 3-D Fireworks Festival.

With the latest surge in COVID-19 cases, state and local public health officials have advised that both large events will likely still pose a significant health risk to the residents of Skokie. Additionally, both events require a number of contracted services and permits to be secured months in advance.

The July Fourth Parade and 3-D Fireworks Festival have been an important celebration in Skokie for decades. With that in mind, organizers will soon begin planning events for July 4, 2022. We hope to see everyone next year.

Carol & Tecumseh Park playgrounds complete
Playground replacements roll on as Carol and Tecumseh Parks join Gross Point Park with brand new playgrounds!

Hamlin, Navajo, Peccia, Playtime, Pohatan and Shabonee Parks are also set for renovation this summer. All Skokie playgrounds have been uniquely and safely designed with state-of-the-art play structures and surfaces.

Mask update for the vaccinated
According to the latest CDC guidelines, Skokie Park District park users who are fully vaccinated against coronavirus no longer need to wear a mask outdoors while walking, running, hiking or biking alone, or when in small gatherings that include members of their own household or others who are vaccinated. Masks are still necessary in a crowd and continue to be required for everyone inside of park district facilities.
