I was featured on CBS 3 News Philadelphia on the Paycheck Protection Program on Saturday.

“The concern that I have, and I think a lot of people share, is the amount of money is not going to be available based on the number of loans that come through,” McCarthy & Company Managing Partner Marty McCarthy said.

Despite a federal lifeline, trouble may already be brewing for the Paycheck Protection Program. On Friday, the first day small businesses could apply for a PPP loan, more than $5.4 billion was approved in over $17,000 loans. Click here to see the interview.

I am going to spend a lot of time discussing the PPP loan program on our CARES Act webinar on Wednesday, April 8 at 11:00 AM. Please register for the webinar today to learn more.
In the interim, feel free to contact any member of our team with questions. We have helped clients complete their PPP loan applications. Many clients have already been approved. I urge you not to wait.

Wells Fargo announced yesterday that they have shut the loan window on small businesses, claiming it has already exhausted its funding capacity, according to a San Francisco Business Times report. Wells Fargo has a regulatory asset cap of $10 billion.

Remember that people who are self-employed or are independent contractors can start submitting their applications on April 10.   Call us at (610) 828-1900 (PA) or (732) 341-3893 (NJ). Rich Higgins, CPA, managing principal – New Jersey office can be contacted at Richard.Higgins@MCC-CPAs.com . I can be reached at Marty.McCarthy@MCC-CPAs.com . As always, we are happy to help.
