OCTOBER 2020
Greetings!

I hope you remain healthy and well. We are in week 9 of in-person classes here at LFA. The campus is beautiful this fall; we are enjoying the outdoors as much as possible by holding classes and meetings in tented spaces around the grounds.

While we miss seeing you in person, we look forward to connecting via phone and Zoom during the months ahead. Please don't hesitate to reach out if I can assist you at LFA.

We will send the link to the webinar to registered guests the day before the gathering.
HOME: Gala 2020 Nets $850,000 for New Faculty Apartments

Thank you to the entire LFA community, who committed more than $850,000 at the October 9 Virtual Gala to help underwrite the construction of four new faculty apartments in Atlass Hall. The $1.8 million project is part of the school’s effort to enhance on-campus housing, thereby attracting and retaining great faculty members. LFA faculty and staff contributed more than $35,000 during the Virtual Gala; their gifts were matched by Trustee Patrick and Christina Corsiglia P'15, '17, '20.

Special thanks to the following alumni who supported the silent auction through donations of items or experiences: Charles Galante '84, Rebecca Makkai '95, and Alex DeBrincat '16. We are grateful to them as well as to the more than 70 alumni who registered for the Gala.

It’s not too late to support faculty at LFA with your gift to the project. You can make your gift online here.
Virtual Parents Day: Young Alumni Panel

Bravo to our fabulous four young alumni representatives, who spoke to the LFA community on Parents Day (Oct. 9) about how their high school experience prepared them for success in college and the workplace: Kennedy Hayes '18, Felix Ouyang '09, Aaron Beck '10, and Margaux Boles '14. Thank you for being such wonderful alumni representatives. We are proud to call you Caxys!

Watch a recording of the session here.
Young Alumni Admissions Panel

The Admissions Office at LFA hosted a virtual program on Oct. 8 focused on college counseling and the role that LFA plays in preparing students for the process. Alumnae Ananta Srivastava '18, a junior at Johns Hopkins University, and Jenny Levitt '18, a junior at Stanford University, represented LFA and shared their thoughts and advice with prospective families who are exploring LFA. Thank you, Ananta and Jenny!

Student Testimonial
Boarding students call LFA home because faculty make it feel like home.

Don’t take our word for it. Hear senior Thomas Langston discuss the unforgettable impact LFA faculty have had on his campus experience as part of the October 9 Virtual Gala program.

Who was your favorite LFA or Ferry Hall teacher? Thank them and support today’s teachers with a gift in their honor/memory.
