Short week, but a bunch of stuff to pass on, so lets get to it!
We posted Sentai's August slate for pre-order this week (see below). I wanted to mention that while the BluRay release for Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? II has now been announced, Sentai is planning an excellent Limited Edition Premium Box Set for season II which will probably be released during Q4 later this year. I'll pass on more information as Sentai makes it available.
Just to give everyone an update on the Shield Hero situation, between the closure of Funi's warehouse for two weeks, them flubbing their numbers on the first pressing, and the erratic way they shipped initial pre-orders to retailers, pretty much all the copies we've got in the first round went right back out the door. I've been answering a lot of customer e-mails this week from panicked folks who are afraid they aren't going to get copies, and despite my assurances we even had a couple of customers cancel pre-orders to try somewhere else. ~sigh~
We have more stacked shipments of all four SKU's of Shield Hero inbound. Some will be arriving this afternoon, and more will be arriving on Monday. Another shipment is due towards the end of next week. By Monday we will have enough to fill all existing backorders and pre-orders plus some extra. I'm being told that the Limited Part 2 set (CR-10213) with the book is the one that's already sold out in other places. We will be getting more of those Monday as well. I wanted to let everyone know that once we fill existing pre-orders, any extra copies of those sets will be allocated on Monday and Tuesday to existing RACS customers first and not in the usual 'first come first served' manner we would usually apply. I'm sure a lot of customers of other stores will try to buy up all our stock of that particular item as soon as word gets out we have them, and we certainly welcome the business, but I'm going to make sure all our regular RACS customers are taken care of first.
Our primary manga partner finally got caught up with shipments, then promptly fell behind again, sending us a note this week that they are again 1-2 business days behind in retailer shipments. I think just as companies started to adjust to the new normal, the re-openings are taxing those adjustments. We've been putting more copies of books upfront in our warehouse to make up the difference so not really a big deal this time around.

Japanese officials are reportedly considering a plan that would see the government potentially step up to pay half of the travel expenses of foreign travelers to the Land of the Rising Sun. However, the plan is merely just a proposal - at least for the time being. Since the coronavirus pandemic became a global concern earlier this year, the brakes have been hit on global travel - as well as the lucrative tourism industries of various countries. This has been no less true in Japan, where a mere 2,900 tourists visited the country this April - a vast and precipitous drop from the 2,926,685 people who visited the country last April, according to leading Japanese newspaper The Mainichi. On a nationwide level, the country has seen a staggering 99.9 percent year-on-year drop in tourism. To prevent the continuation of the brutal collapse of tourism, the Japanese government is now considering giving the green light to a 1.35 trillion yen (over $12.5 billion USD) fund to lure back foreign visitors. Japanese Tourism Agency chief Hiroshi Tabata said that the scheme could begin as soon as July if COVID-19 infections continue to subside.
If the Japanese government decides to spring for half the cost of the trip there, and the store mysteriously shuts down for a week in August, you'll know where we are!

There's rarely a dull moment when you're the champion of a tiny Familia, and things only get rougher for Bell when the God Apollo declares war on Hestia and her followers.
