answers to most of your questions on our website.
Dear Member, Supporter, Stakeholder,

The anticipation to return back to the field and allow some sort of normalcy back in our lives is only hours away. As Executive Director of Pickering FC, I wanted to take the time to appreciate all of the efforts you have made to stay engaged with your coach and the loyalty you have shown to us at the Club. If there is anything else I or anyone in the Club can do for you or your family to allow your child or children to continue to participate in our programs please let us know. We are aware the pandemic has affected us all in different ways.

The City of Pickering has made our field permits available as of June 14, 2021 and our Return to Play Assessment has been approved based on our operational performance last summer. At present all leagues are addressing their ability to operate beginning in Stage 2. Considerations have been made to extend the outdoor season to October for the grassroots players and November for the U13+ players. Once we are aware of the decisions from the leagues we will inform the appropriate coaching staff.
As we slowly return, we all have our personal beliefs on safety requirements regarding the province opening up. Each of us still need to feel safe based on our own personal risk assessment to ourselves and to our loved ones. On behalf of the PFC Board of Directors, office and coaching staff we are all taking every reasonable step to ensure everyone’s safety as we return and operate through Stage 1 of the re-opening. In 2020, we provided a thorough RTP webinar that highlighted key information and that has now been updated for Outdoor 2021. Please adhere to the guidance provided so we may continue to operate safely on behalf of everyone.

As a final note, please be mindful of City of Pickering By-laws; keep our community members in mind when using park and field spaces in accordance with Pickering's Noise By-law, and abide by Parking By-laws on City streets. With a rush back to the fields, we want to keep our neighbours happy too!

Our strategic planning process for 2022-2026 has started and will now engage YOU, as Club Members, Supports and Stakeholders so look out for specific online surveys in the next two weeks. We want to hear your thoughts on the current direction and future plans for the Club. This is your club after all and we want you to be #PFCProud.

1. My son/daughter wants to play with a friend, is this possible?
Yes, of course! It is important to create the best possible experience for all players. Please email admin-rec@pickeringfc.ca to request a Play with Request form that will need to be submitted to manage any request.

2. What equipment will I need to purchase for my child?
Shin pads and soccer shoes. The registration fee for all players includes a jersey, shorts and socks. For players U3 to U12 a ball is included in the registration fee.

3. What are the plans for 2021 outdoor recreational? Is registration open?
We are planning and working towards a 2021 Outdoor Season subject to the Covid guidelines that we all must follow.
We have opened up registration for our 2nd phase of Covid-19 re-opening which we hope will be the first week of July. Spaces are limited for all programs. Please note that we will not have volunteers assisting as 1-on-1s this summer. If your athlete requires assistance on the field, they must attend with a helper from your “family bubble”.
We are happy to share that we have received Jumpstart Sport Relief funding that has allowed us to offer our programs this summer at NO COST to our families. Our first priority is to get our athletes back on the field and get them moving and socializing with one another (from a distance).

How does Jumpstart raise funds to support organizations like the PFC All Abilities Program across Canada? Through the generosity of shoppers at Canadian Tire, Canadian Tire Gas Bars, Sport Check, National Sport’s, and Mark’s. Have you been asked at the check-out if you would like to make a small donation? It is programs like the PFC All Abilities Programs that benefit from those donations.
Ontario Soccer is hosting its 2021 Match Official Clinics online. There is space available in these clinics and for more information on how to register please CLICK HERE.

There are user guides for Students to review to help with the registration process and the expectations of the clinics. When registering you will be asked to identify a club so please remember to enter Pickering FC! Once you register we will add you to our contact list to keep in touch with you regarding PFC Match Official Education Sessions and updates on the 2021 Outdoor season.
