March 2019

Dear Concordia Alumna/us,

Although it still can be quite cold and snowy in March, it is a month of renewal and rejuvenation. Our days are filled with more light as we turn our clocks ahead one hour March 10; the official start of spring launches March 20; and Ash Wednesday today begins our wait for the glorious resurrection of our Lord, Jesus.

Despite the weather, March is a wonderful month to be alive with its promises of light, warmth, and love. It is also a good time to get reconnected - with friends and your alma mater. Take a look at the opportunities and events below, or stop by for a tour. Call Linda Sproul at 734.995.7491, or email linda.sproul@cuaa.edu, if you would like to come back and visit your alma mater.

We are proud of you! Our first nursing cohort graduated in December as 39 students became new alumni. Four of them received  special awards for their values of service, excellence, compassion, and integrity. We could not be more proud of these graduates and ALL of our alumni in the medical field who directly impact the lives of patients everyday. To learn more about the award winners, click here.

Supporting Pre-Seminary Students Through Scholarships

Our pre-seminary director, Charles Schulz ('90), has let us know that we have a wonderful problem--a shortfall in our Diligent Timothy Book Grant funds. This is due to our pre-sem students increasing their academic achievements so that more of them are qualifying for this program! Grants from $250 to $500 are distributed every semester to pre-sem students who are in their first year at Concordia, or have earned at least a 3.0 GPA in their pre-sem courses the previous semester. Those with a 3.5 receive the top value, $500, toward course books. Gifts of any amount are needed to help provide this blessing for our students.  If you would like to support these students, checks can be made payable to CUAA with Diligent Timothy written in the memo. Please send to 4090 Geddes Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. To make a gift online, visit cuaa.edu/give, select Other in the support box, and include Diligent Timothy in the comment box.  Thank you for your support of our mission and students.

2018-19 Academic Theme - More than Conquerors
.... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
