“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you
as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
- John 14:27
Dear fellow alumni,

Shalom! Peace be with you.

Whenever I read John 14:27, I always end up humming the old song from our dorm devo book! Recall and rely on Christ’s promises for peace and hope as we begin this new year. No matter what 2021 brings, we put our trust in the Prince of Peace.

You are invited to join us for two Alumni Virtual Events this month. This Monday at 5:30 pm EST, our panel of experts will present information on how to leave a legacy of faith for your loved ones and ministries through estate planning. We are also excited to have President Ferry host our Alumni Town Hall on Tuesday, January 19 at 8:00 pm EST. It’s hard to believe this is his last semester before he retires. Keep scrolling for details and registration, and please take advantage of these events we have planned for you!

And speaking of devos, CUAA campus pastor, Rev. Randy Duncan (’88) is offering a weekly “fireside devo” video for the month of January. Visit our CUAA Alumni Facebook page to watch the first one.

Peace I leave with you, my friends!

First event in Thunder Sports Complex, thanks to generous donor
Saturday, April 24
Our university could not grow and enhance its offerings without the support of our generous donors. To you, we say, THANK YOU! Kay Thunder Haab is just one of those donors. Thanks to her generous gift, we were able to build the Thunder Sports Complex, and the very first event will take place there on April 24. CUAA's track and field will host a meet, which will also feature an alumni appreciation event. All track and field and cross country alumni are invited to attend. Click here for more information and to register.

Faith Under Fire:
alumna serves as movie extra
CUAA has made it into the movies! 1976 alumna Elaine Echols was included as an extra in "Faith Under Fire," a Christian film about hope. In addition, part of the filming took place inside of our very own Earhart Manor. Here is the film's synopsis: After an exhausting night saving a young girl from a raging house fire, Fireman Tom Hatcher is at the end of his rope. He couldn’t save his wife from cancer – and worse yet – his 6-year-old daughter, Tiffany, is now facing the same possible fate. When he finds himself in a cold jail cell after attacking a pastor out of frustration with a seemingly absent God, Tom begins to reflect on his downward spiral into despair. But with the help and persistent friendship of the very man he assaulted, Tom is challenged to face his grief and embrace faith in the darkest hours of his life. Take a watch and let us know if you recognize CUAA in it!

7 takeaways from Tim Tebow’s commencement address
Tim Tebow, two-time national champion, first-round NFL draft pick, Heisman Trophy winner, New York Times Bestselling author, and college football analyst for ESPN, was our commencement speaker in December. He also proudly identifies as a believer, and that fact shone through in his address to Concordians. Click here to read more about this inspirational keynote address.
