Dear Members, Supporters and Stakeholders,

With another week comes another update to our Club operations. For the most part our members and facility users have been fantastic as we transitioned to indoor programs this week. We remind everyone that the abuse of our staff who are required to enforce Club policies will not be accepted and may result in cancellation of any future bookings. For the vast majority that have respected our requirements we sincerely thank you as this is a tiring transition for all of us.

As a result of ongoing monitoring of the flow of traffic in and out of the facility the PFC Board have confirmed that as of midnight on Friday October 22nd we will be allowing one adult/guardian to accompany each player entering the dome.

Requirements include:

Double vaccination check (Ontario Government Ministry of Health distributed QR code is preferred. Accepted alternatives are paper or mobile versions of the vaccine receipt .pdf versions only. jpg/jpeg/png, aka picture, versions will not be accepted as of Nov. 1, 2021)

Masking
Social distancing will still be required.

Spectators will be encouraged to leave promptly at the end of each game or practice in order to allow the next group of spectators in. Spectators may be delayed entry if facility staff feel the volume of people in the lobby or dome is excessive.

After almost a year of planning and discussions Pickering FC is extremely pleased to confirm our partnership with Evolution Sports and Entertainment (E.S & E.). The partnership will see E.S & E. take over the operations of our League1 Ontario teams for both men and women.

The U.K. based company owns and operates football clubs in England (Kettering Town FC), China (Shantou Lions) and the USA (South Bend Lions). The relationship is part of a long term vision to enhance football globally through more transparent player movement, coach development, and enhancement of soccer operations. Staff from all four Clubs will engage in monthly planning meetings and share best practice in a truly global sense. As part of a nationwide assessment, the management team at E.S. & E. recognized the professionalism with which Pickering FC is operated, the thorough technical plan, and state-of the art facilities with the Pickering Soccer Centre described as 'premier league standard' on a recent site visit. As a grassroots club we feel there is a lot we can share with our growing family and there is plenty we will be able to share with our players and coaches, particularly in the high performance stream.

Interestingly, in 1975 Kettering Town famously became the first English club to have a jersey sponsor, which The Football Association quickly banned. It was another 2 years before the governing body allowed soccer teams to carry a jersey sponsor. Look out for more information on this exciting development on our website and in social media.

PFC Facility Staff will be positioned in the lobby to check everyone in, subject to their vaccine requirements. PFC will not accept any abuse of staff or volunteers as we all try to navigate this difficult time. Please have patience and come prepared.
