Registration  Your student’s time ticket for Summer 2023 and Fall 2023 registration will be available on March 6th. Time tickets, located in PAWS, indicate the day/time your student can register for courses. Your student can use the following tips to assist in their registration process. Chat with their academic advisor regarding best courses to register for. Please note, enrollment levels by credit hour remain the same for the summer semester. Check academic eligibility in PAWS to ensure there are no holds preventing registration. Review the Academic Calendar for add/drop periods.

Course Dates: May Term = May 8th - May 26th Summer First Term = May 31st - June 27th Summer Second Term = June 28th - July 25th Summer Full Term = May 31st - July 25th Undergraduate Enrollment Levels: Full Time = 12 credit hours 3/4 Time = 9 to 11 credit hours 1/2 Time = 6 to 8 credit hours Less Than 1/2 Time = 1 to 5 credit hours

Housing The May Term and Summer Term housing applications open today, March 1st, in the MyUSAHousing portal. May Term Housing: Students must be enrolled in at least 1 credit hour for the May Term.  Summer Term Housing: Students must be enrolled in at least 1 credit hour in any of the summer terms. Summer move-in is Tuesday, May 30th.

Financial Aid

Summer 2023 Students who received financial aid for Fall 2022 and/or Spring 2023, should complete the Summer Aid Application as soon as possible. Click here for detailed information. Fall 2023 Students should complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov. Students will receive an estimated aid offer once the FAFSA is received by South. Official aid offers will go out by early April.

Ticket Forgiveness  The USA Student Government Association's Spring 2023 Parking Ticket Forgiveness Day will be on March 29th. Through Parking Ticket Forgiveness Day, SGA hopes to promote positivity around the issue of parking, while helping the local community.  Currently enrolled students have the opportunity to have one parking ticket dismissed per semester in exchange for doing good for the community. Each semester SGA selects a charity within the surrounding community to collect items the charity needs. Students must bring supplies from a list provided by SGA to have the ticket removed from their student record.

Detailed information will be shared on SGA's social media each semester @usa_sga. Your student can reach out directly to SGA if they have any questions.

Archaeology Museum The USA Archaeology Museum showcases artifacts from the Gulf Coast and covers over 12,000 years of history. Artifacts are contextualized using a series of life-size scenic representations depicting archaeologists at work. When your student visits the museum they will see a glimpse into the ways of life of ancient Woodland cultures, mound-building Mississippian peoples, early French settlers, and African American families after the Civil War.   The museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. with other events happening throughout the year which are announced on the museum's social media. Your student can find the USA Archeology Museum on Instagram and Facebook @southarchaeology.   Currently, the museum is working on a National Endowment for the Humanities funded project and exhibit about the daily lives of African Americans in early 20th century Mobile.

Jaguar Productions Jaguar Productions (JP) works to provide your students with a fun, engaging campus experience through student involvement and community building through entertaining, educational, and diverse events. JP offers students an opportunity to meet new people, form lasting friendships, and have a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
