Good afternoon. It's a chilly rainy Friday here at RACS HQ, but the holiday season is already kicking in so we've been keeping warm running around like busy little bee's filling your orders! ;-)

We've got some great new Anime and Manga arrivals in for you this week, but I'm super excited about one in particular bc I didn't have a chance to see Godzilla Minus One at the theater, so a copy of the 4K release will be coming home with me this weekend! Yeah!

Anime Limited has kicked the release of the GIBIATE TV Series Limited Edition BLURAY back from Nov 12th to Dec 31st. I can't guarantee that we will get these in prior to Christmas, so if you have an order currently waiting for a copy of GIBIATE and want to make a change, just drop us a line and let us know. WHAT'S NEW @ RACS THIS WEEK!!

Only a couple of new arrivals in this week. We got in the Parasyte ~ the Maxim Complete Collection BLURAY (Collector's Edition Steelbook) early from Sentai. We also got both the Godzilla Minus One Movie BLURAY (Live Action) and the Godzilla Minus One Movie 4K + Bonus Material BLURAY (Live Action) version a little early. Pre-orders for these have already shipped out.

We posted three big batches of new manga and lite novel arrivals this week, for a total of 79 new volumes in stock! New arrivals this week include 2.5 Dimensional Seduction , Vol #12, Ero Ninja Scrolls , Vol #7, [Oshi No Ko] , Vol #8, Twin Star Exorcists , Vol #32, Game of Familia Family Senki , Vol #5, Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt , Vol #22 and way too many more to list!

And finally, MediaOCD announced their release of Nasu: Summer In Andalusia BLURAY for March 11th under the AnimEigo label. Nasu was the first anime ever invited to the Cannes Film Festival - new trailer here - and this is the first time it has been released on physical media in North America. Justin says they are still working on bonus features, but for now, they have a long interview with director Kitaro Kosaka, original trailers, and will be including even more.

IN THE NEWS

GKIDS announced that it has acquired the North American rights to director Naoko Yamada's A Silent Voice and Liz and the Blue Bird anime films. The company will screen the former in theaters from December 15-16. GKIDS streamed English-dubbed trailer for A Silent Voice. Naoko Yamada and Kyoto Animation's A Silent Voice anime film is based on Yoshitoki Ōima's manga of the same name. Eleven Arts previously held screenings for the film in January 2019 and October 2022. Eleven Arts Anime Studio originally screened the film in the United States in Japanese with English subtitles in October 2017 and with an English dub in February 2018.

Kyoto Animation — the studio behind K-ON!, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Sound! Euphonium, and other anime — issued a statement on November 4 to warn that at least one website was using its name, despite having no ties to it. The studio asked fans to be careful.

Voice actor and ADR Director David Wald revealed on his X/Twitter account on Monday that he is not returning as the English voice of Gajeel in the Fairy Tail franchise. Furthermore, he is not returning to Crunchyroll's studio. This follows Wald's claims on October 25 that Crunchyroll "opened [his] private mail, threw away [the] letters, and passed out any included items to [its] staff." Wald plans to go into more detail about what has happened on his Twitch channel.

Representatives of major anime streaming services Crunchyroll and formerly Funimation are revealed to be among the most active in issuing copyright takedown requests, together totaling over 45 million of them. Via Torrent Freak, Google has announced that it passed the rather unfortunate milestone of receiving over 10 billion URL takedown requests from its search results for sites accused of copyright infringement. Its new Transparency Report provides deeper insight into the data. As of Dec. 6, 10,138,526,722 URLs have been requested for delisting from 5,402,321 domains, indicating a rather small number of sites committing these alleged infringements. An even smaller pool comprises the organizations claiming to be copyright owners of the content, and those that act on their behalf, at just 609,367 and 627,239 organizations, respectively. Funimation and Crunchyroll content combined put it among the most sought-after content to be removed, with requests for URL takedowns numbering over 45.1 million. Google's takedown form technically allows anyone to pose as an organization representing a copyright owner. However, it adds that false claims open up liability for damages, making it likely that the overwhelming majority of the copyright claims were enacted on Crunchyroll/Funimation's behalf. The companies' split URL claims are 8.02 million and 37.09 million, respectively.
