The winds of change are blowing! This will be our last PFC Newsletter in this format as we look to modernize with a more dynamic platform. Please keep an eye out for more news and don't forget that Recreational and Competitive registration portals both went LIVE today.

PFC would like to offer our sincere thanks to Dave Benning who leaves his role as Director of Soccer Operations this coming Thursday. Dave has led the clubs technical staff through a tumultuous period in the clubs history and with his leadership the club has not only grown its player numbers but it has thrived. Dave is renowned for his attention to detail and high expectations of players and coaching staff. Through four years with the club, Dave has developed a coaching culture that has seen coaches collaborate and support each other more than ever before. A record number have completed coaching licenses and the PFC Player Pathway has become a robust structure. As the technical spokesperson for PFC Dave regularly championed the work of our coaches, players and staff to ensure we were treated fairly at all levels of the game and that the hard work being done was recognized further afield. Dave will be missed around the field and in the classroom but we know the club is better for his leadership and we expect to continue on the trajectory he has set.

PFC is sorry to see one of our longest-serving, part-time employees leave us for pastures new. Tammy Lyle-Gravlev came to us in 2017 as part of a unique and groundbreaking program the Club started, In Motion. The In Motion program saw upwards of 200 seniors regularly attend the Pickering Soccer Centre for a morning of education, activity and cake! Not only did the In Motion program get recognition province-wide for its success but it enable PFC to establish our Walking Soccer program and a Walk The Dome program that both continue to operate each week. Tammy transitioned to our All Abilities Coordinator and quickly built a rapport with the children and their families. Again, she stepped up during the pandemic and kept our players connected with virtual sessions before returning to the field. Not only did Tammy assist a young coach in writing and printing a children's book that helps raise funds for the club but she has appeared on TSN and CBC promoting our great players.
