Increased traffic delays on SE Cornelius Pass Road

Lane closures for Cornelius Pass Road Project construction will increase from Feb. 20-March 10.

Construction crews will reduce traffic to one lane as needed from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. with flaggers directing traffic. Contractors will install pipeline across Cornelius Pass Road, between Frances Street and Rock Road.

We are widening Cornelius Pass Road to match the sections north of Frances Street and south of TV Highway. A section of Willamette Water Supply Program (WWSP) drinking water pipeline is being installed at the same time as the road improvement project.

We have widened the east side of Cornelius Pass Road already. WWSPpipeline is in place from TV Highway to Rock Road. Pipeline installation will continue to Frances Street on the west side of Cornelius Pass Road.

We will close Frances Street, between Cornelius Pass Road and 74th Avenue, from March 27-April 1. During this closure, contractors will install a 48-inch (diameter) water supply line across Frances Street and an 18-inch (diameter) water line between Frances Street and 74th Avenue.

Once the water supply line is in place, we will pave the road and move traffic to the new lanes. Construction will then begin on the west side of the street.

The Cornelius Pass Road Project will continue through 2023.
