On behalf of the Valley Children’s Healthcare Foundation team, we would like to thank Derek and Heather Carr for their continued commitment and dedication to our patients and families. In its seventh season, the DC4KIDS Touchdown Challenge continues to provide Valley Children’s with the resources necessary for our clinical teams to provide the best care for the children of the Central Valley.

This season, DC4KIDS Touchdown Challenge members helped raise more than $85,000! We are inspired by our members who have a crucial role in caring for children who need it most. We look forward to celebrating this achievement with Derek and all of our members in person later this year.

We thank Derrel's Mini Storage, who has generously supported Valley Children's since 1986. For every new unit rented, Derrel's Mini Storage donates $1 to support the patients and families we serve. All of the more than fifty Derrel's Mini Storage locations across the Central Valley participate in this campaign each year, which resulted in a $35,613 donation in 2022, bringing their lifetime giving to an astounding $1,121,547. Derrel's Mini Storage's loyal support for nearly 40 years has helped Valley Children's continue to provide high-quality, comprehensive services for generations of children.

The 36th annual Kids Day is coming on March 7, 2023. Since 1988, Valley Children’s has partnered with ABC30 and The Fresno Bee to orchestrate Kids Day. As one of the largest fundraising events in the Central Valley, Kids Day hosts more than 20 communities to help raise funds to support Valley Children’s greatest needs.

Kids Day volunteers will make a return this year in your community. Look for information on the Kids Day website in the coming weeks on how to register to become a volunteer.

We encourage you to support the 36th annual Kids Day through one of our various options listed below. CMN Hospitals Extra Life Program Celebrates 15 years

Extra Life is celebrating its 15th anniversary as a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals program. Extra Life gamers join together to raise needed funds for the children's hospital of their choice.

We thank the Extra Life participants who raised $42,182.54 in 2022 for Valley Children’s Hospital while streaming, playing table top games and using other creative methods to encourage people to donate. Gamers who want to join in on the fun can sign up at extra-life.org or call Joe Castro at 559-353-7100.

Meet Mac Valley Childrens 2023 CMN Hospitals Champion

It is with great pleasure that we introduce our 2023 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals champion, Mac C. from Fresno! Mac was born with spina bifida and a severe form of Chiari malformation, a condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. He was immediately transferred to Valley Children's Hospital where he remained in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for two weeks. Mac has been admitted at Valley Children’s more than 100 times and has undergone a total of 34 major surgeries at Valley Children’s. Mac is now 11 years old and in sixth grade, homeschooled by his mom. He enjoys reading, playing video games, board games and card games with his family. Mac loves animals and watching baseball and football. Please join us in welcoming Mac as this year's ambassador for our CMN Hospitals events!
