With the CUPE strike now upon us we have thankfully been supported by the City to continue our use of the turf fields at Kinsmen and Pine Ridge for the month of November. Those permits are extended only to Pickering FC as the largest not-for-profit sport organization in the City and as a result of the dome construction. The City's community use partnership agreement with Dunbarton High School also means we can continue most of our Recreational programming there each weekend. Our thanks are extended to the City Staff and Council for supporting us during this period.
Our relationship with the City of Pickering continues to strengthen, from our partnership with the installation of a PSC branded turf field at Kinsmen Park (scheduled for a full refurbishment in 2023), to our development of the Pickering Soccer Centre in 2014 and the new upgrades coming in March 2023. Much of that success has come during the term of Mayor Dave Ryan who recently stepped down as Mayor of Pickering after 19 years in the position and 28 years on City Council. During his closing address to Council, Staff and Community Members last month, he acknowledged the support of Pickering Football Club as a community partner and we were privileged to share the event with many local community leaders.
As has become the norm for 2022 we continue to pivot and deal with challenges head on. If we have learned anything about soccer it's important to be resilient and deal with the challenges that you meet on the field and off it. With the strike action hitting us today and over the weekend we will extend all Recreational programs to guarantee the 10 week mini-season is completed.

Due to the current CUPE strike, permits for St. Marys have been cancelled this weekend and therefore all programming this weekend will be postponed and rescheduled at a later date. Full details using the link below.
Dunbarton HS - U9 to U15
CUPE strike does not effect our Dunbarton permits and therefore all sessions/games will will played as originally scheduled.
This is a last call to any members who did not receive their players medal or photo from the 2022 outdoor season. Please pickup either item from the PFC Office, 1975 Clements Rd, Pickering, during our open hours. After Friday November 12th we cannot guarantee the items will be here as we clean for the indoor season.
