City Implementing Comprehensive Telework Provisions To Enhance Work-Life Balance For Employees

This month, City of Forest Park announce the implementation of several comprehensive telework provisions aimed at enhancing work-life balance for its employees. The initiative underscores the city's unwavering commitment to fostering a flexible, supportive and highly productive work environment. The L.E.A.F. (Leading an Essential, Able, and Fulfilled) Life initiative — spearheaded by Forest Park Mayor Angelyne Butler, MPA, and unanimously approved by City Council — represents a holistic approach toward addressing various aspects of employee well-being. In addition to telework provisions, L.E.A.F. Life includes a strategic focus on high-quality sustainable housing for the city's workforce.

City's Finance Department Enhancing Procurement Services With OpenGov

ATTENTION ALL BUSINESSES AND VENDORS: In an effort to strategically modernize its internal procurement service capabilities, the City of Forest Park has officially transitioned to a new digital eProcurement platform, OpenGov, enabling Clayton County's largest municipality to shift away from paper-based bid solicitations to a fully automated, electronic bidding and vendor management system. Vendors and/or companies interested in conducting business with the City of Forest are highly encouraged to register in the OpenGov eProcurement platform. There is NO COST to sign up. City Manager Announces New Directors For Economic Development, Planning and Community Development

City Manager Ricky L. Clark, Jr. announced the addition of two new department directors who have joined the City of Forest Park's Executive Cabinet: Marsellas Williams, Director of Economic Development, and Nicole Dozier, Director of Planning and Community Development.

 

Marsellas Williams, Director of Economic Development: Prior to joining the City of Forest Park, Williams worked for the City of Powder Springs as the director of economic development from January 2022 to June 2024, where he managed development, promotional and implementation efforts to attract and retain businesses – all while serving as a staff facilitator and advisor for the Development Authority of Powder Springs and Downtown Development Authority of Powder Springs.


Nicole C.E. Dozier, Director of Planning and Community Development: An experienced development director with more than 20 years of experience in management and municipal operations, Nicole C.E. Dozier joins the City of Forest Park as the new director of planning and community development. From September 2019 to May 2024, Dozier served as the community development director for the City of Riverdale, where she was responsible for facilitating revitalization efforts to address issues related to planning, land use zoning and business façade improvements. 

Legacy Resident Receives New Roof Through Forest Park's H.O.M.E Program

A brand new roof for one of our legacy residents, Ms. Jones! Here's a quick look at the city's H.O.M.E. Program live in action. Thanks to the Forest Park governing body, qualifying residents ages 62 and older are receiving financial assistance to help pay for much needed home repairs, including roofing, painting, ADA improvements and more. As part of the city's ONE Forest Park initiative, the city continues to place a heave emphasis on neighborhood sustainability, with the goal of elevating our communities one resident at a time.

New businesses just keep on rolling in! Join us in welcoming Ms. Jerrie's Cafe and La Chapina Bakery - Panaderia, which both call the City of Forest Park Home. Whether you're in the mood for a mouth-watering omelet, fish & grits, chargrilled burger or a delicious pastry or dessert, head on over to these two new hot spots to satisfy those breakfast and brunch cravings.

Fire Department Brings Home Trophy From Rivalry Softball Game

Singing "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!" The Forest Park Police Department put up a good fight, but it was Chief Latosha Clemons and the Forest Park Fire and Emergency Services Department who ultimately brought home the winner's trophy from our summer Fire vs PD Rivalry Softball Game! Thank you to everyone for coming out and supporting our incredible public safety employees. It was definitely a fun time with good food, laughter and plenty of friendly competition on and off the field.

Rededication Ceremony Held For Municipal Court

Introducing the new and improved Forest Park Municipal Court. From traffic infractions to minor civil cases to misdemeanor offenses, municipal courts play such a vital role when it comes to ensuring that justice continues to be served in our community. Lead by Court Administrator Dorothy Roper-Jackson, our Municipal Court team remains committed to maintaining the accuracy of all court records and accounts, while also striving to provide fair and dependable adjudication across all cases.

City Employees Celebrate National Bring Your Dog To Work Day

No bones about it, the city definitely let the dogs out for National Bring Your Dog To Work Day. City staff took a break from the hustle and bustle of work to enjoy the "dog days of summer" with their beloved fur babies. The afternoon activities included a doggie pool, yard games, treats and more. Thanks to all our amazing employees who participated!
