New Campus Mural

On April 8 - during the solar eclipse - the Jupiter Campus community, including students, faculty and staff, came together to paint a beautiful mural using a bespoke design created by the artist DAAS. The colorful mural is located on the south wall of the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College building and serves as a symbol of the campus’s vibrant community. To commemorate the occasion, a short video was commissioned documenting the mural painting event.

Brainy Days 2024

Every March, the Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute hosts Brainy Days, a month-long event series designed to share recent scholarship and raise awareness of brain health topics and discoveries.

This year's Brainy Days featured three renowned speakers:

  • John Cryan, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience at University College Cork, Ireland, shared his expertise on the gut-brain connection.
  • Richard J. Davidson, Ph.D., the William James and Vilas research professor of psychology and psychiatry and founder and director of the Center for Healthy Minds at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, presented his research on the neuroscience behind well-being.
  • Anjan Chatterjee, Ph.D., professor of neurology, psychology, and architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and director of the Penn Center for Neuroaesthetics, explained how the brain processes and perceives beauty.

Each speaker presented two talks in their area of expertise; one geared toward the scientific community and one offered to the general public. The public talks and book signings were hosted at the Brain Institute in Jupiter, the Boca Raton campus and at the Cox Science Center in West Palm Beach.

The Cox Science Center also hosted the annual Brain Sparks! event presented by the Brain Institute's Advancing STEM-Community Engagement through Neuroscience Discovery (ASCEND) program. The interactive event featuring dozens of hands-on activities designed to introduce young minds to neuroscience.
